What an amazing place. We had our wedding their last weekend. Alison and her team do a remarkable job. Everything was top notch. 6 star service, food , venue and accommodation. Allison is laid back and caring and just makes you feel at home. Nothing phases her.

After a long day on foot at the nearby Tocal Field Day we were delighted to arrive at Maddies to a very comfortable old style bedroom, ensuite and private lounge. This is the Paterson room and very reasonably priced.
We had to leave early and our host Alison could not have been more helpful or accomodating - serving up a lovely cooked breakfast along with a range of fresh fruit, croissants and good coffee.
We will definitely be back!

Beyond Expectations! A lovely stay at Maddies which has been tastefully renovated and furnished keeping the old worldly charm. Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Alison, the host, is a great host and made us feel welcome and went over and beyond to accomodate us - even without us asking. Refreshments with an assist pod teas and coffees including cookies and home made brownie were available in the lovely appointed dining room at all times. Breakfast- WoW! Just lost for words- treat yourself and go for a cooked breakfast- it was freshly cooked, beautifully presented and better than any hotel or coffee shop breakfast I’ve ordered! Alison’s put in so much effort and passion in providing what I would rate as AAA hospitality with many special touches. |Maddies is close to the lovely historic town of Morpeth and East Maitland with plenty of places to eat within easy drive.|Highly recommend Maddies! Thank you Alison and we can’t wait to find an opportunity to return !

Bed and breakfasts get a bad wrap in Australia. It’s so hard for each host to be everything to each guest.

Yet our host was absolutely amazing. Maddies is quiet. Whisper quiet. The rooms are well appointed and the bathroom was huge. I have a big vintage bath in my art deco apartment and the renovated bath at @maddies_of_bolwarra was HUGE!

The room had two beds plus a futon which would have been perfect for larger families. Also travelling with my registered assistance dogs was not a problem. Everything was so easy!

The gardens are amazing! You could sit out the front or back and just watch the sunset or sunrise and listen to birds and watch the wildlife.

I couldn’t finish this review without declaring the continental breakfast was like NOTHING, I have had at any Australian BnB. There was eggs, cold meats, cheese, avocado, smoked salmon, fresh bread, cereals and a fruit platter that no one could finish! This was every morning. Plus the coffee and tea facilities.

The house is an old renovated country homestead and it’s full of charm! If you like no character and white, please move on! But if you feel at home in a grand old house, this is the stay for you!!!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Maddies of Bolwarra, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Alison was an absolute pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to help us with every detail in the planning process. The house is charming, and the gardens are even more spectacular – the perfect backdrop for our special day!

The food was absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests on how wonderful everything tasted. One of the best parts was that Maddies is dog-friendly, so our baby boy Peanut could be there with us, and he had a wonderful time as well! We were taken care of extremely well, and I can’t recommend Maddies of Bolwarra enough for anyone looking for a beautiful and welcoming venue. Thank you, Alison, for making our day unforgettable!

We only had a 1 night stay as we came down to attend a wedding. Place is nice in a quiet location. Parking on site and property is very clean. Room was available earlier than check in as per request. Alison was very accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean. We had everything we needed. There was also tea and coffee available in common area.
Breakfast included and consisted in home made sweets and hot breakfast.
Overall we had a great time, garden has a relaxing feel and will definitely be back.
Very friendly owner and staff. Felt very welcomed.

Wonderful retreat, highly recommend

My partner surprised me with a trip out here when I arrived back on my flight.

We were met by Alison, our lovely hostess, who was very friendly and helpful. She offered us tea, coffee, and cake, which we gladly accepted.

Our room was beautifully cool (air-con) and so comfortable. The bed was the perfect amount of soft, with comfy covers and pillowy pillows and the bathroom was lovely - full bathtub with foam supplied, beautiful old-time aesthetic.

The garden is incredible, so beautiful, and low-key would be really nice for a wedding in the future. The garden surrounds the property and really helps you to feel comfortable and away from the cares of the world. A beautiful break from stress with the girl I love.

We also had breakfast provided, which was absolutely delicious - croissants, fruit, freshly baked bread from a local bakery, absolutely delicious on a summer morning.

I had a fantastic time, and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a weekend away with someone special to them.

To my girlfriend (if she’s reading this, she often reads my google reviews) thank you for such a special time away together. I couldn’t ask for a more wonderful partner, you make me smile and I can’t wait to spend more time with you. This was so special, I’m a very lucky man.
