I have found they have gone above and beyond to serve their clients in both countries. I have had the privelege of partnering with VS to create experiences that have inspired many young people to follow their passion for Japanese language and culture, or English language.
I congratulate VS for being one of the few remaining organisations in post-covid Australia that provide precious immersive international exchange opportunities.
VS have helped us in sudden typhoon emergencies in 2 Japanese cities, made ZOOM exchanges possible in lockdowns, and even helped students with special requirements visit Japan when it appeared impossible.

This is the WORST business I have dealt with in Australia.

I was one of their host families, and I was doing them a favour to refer my parents-in-law’s family to join their homestay program, too. We had an interview with one of their consultants, but due to their English language level, my in-law’s family did not meet his expectation, and the interview with him ended up with some bad attitude from him thinking we were disingenuous and wasting his time. Not to mention that as the host of the Zoom interview he did not even start the meeting on time until I prompted him to do so.

I then wrote an email to his manager, providing my feedback about his poor attitude and business manner, without any further demand, just to wish my feedback could improve their services. This has triggered the consultant to write me back a highly unprofessional email full of aggressive language, personal insult and humiliation. What is more, he even made his retaliation by removing me from the host family list despite our previous agreement.

I emailed the manager requesting a chat with him, and tried to call him multiple times. He ignored my email and blocked my number.

I then wrote an email back to the consultant, stating that I was only a client who tried to help out, and as business they should be professional and respectful to the client’s effort, regardless what the outcome was. This time he simply replied with a link to a mental health website.

This is just disgusting.

How this company, which is providing education services to young children, dare to let their staff insult their clients to this level is beyond my comprehension.

[UPDATE] After seeing my negative comments on the Internet, the mentioned consultant called my workplace to harass me with further personal insult, threatening me that he would keep making harassment if I had left more negative comments. In addition, he recorded our phone call without my consent, which is completely illegal. Unbelievable.

Will you feel safe letting these people look after your children in their overseas exchange program?

[UPDATE 2] The response from the business under this review is purely a collection of lies. I suspect that it is not even written by the business owner but by the mentioned consultant himself who has been trying very hard to manipulate the reviews. Simple logic: under no circumstances could the business owner know that much details about the phone conversation between the consultant and myself, unless the call was recorded/overheard without my permission. So they are either liars or criminals. I could have screenshot his aggressive emails and attach to this review, but there is no point wasting more time with nasty people. Wish them good luck.

We had a great time hosting a student a few years ago through VS, and ended up visiting him recently when we travelled to Japan for a holiday. He is now a Uni student. It was a particularly exciting experience for our kids who have since taken a great interest in Japan.

Have hosted through this company many times. The Japanese students are a delight, and the staff are very friendly and supportive.
