Loved this hostel. It’s literally steps from the beach, which was amazing. The facilities are super clean, modern, and well looked after. The vibe is really chill but still social — I met great people during the morning yoga sessions and at the wine & cheese night.

The shared room was comfy, had good air con, and big lockers. Each bed has its own power outlet and light, which I really appreciated. The staff were super friendly and helpful from day one.

I also loved the free surfboards and bikes, and the shuttle to town is a nice bonus if you don’t feel like walking. There’s also a bar next door with live music most nights — always something going on.

Excellent hostel. Perfect vibes. Pool is super chill and right by the beach. The walk to main beach is gorgeous, or there’s a shuttle if you like. Activities are great fun as they’re not too party. The private room was total luxury. Would 100% stay again.

I stayed here for three nights after arriving from Sydney. The hostel is in a great location if you prefer a slightly more rural feel. It's a 20 minute walk into town but only a 1 minute walk to the beach. The staff are really nice and the facilities are great. Unfortunately when we went there (June 2025) were renovations which made the common space and kitchen smaller but it was still great!

Very good hostel. Comfortable rooms, nice pool & bar. We did their trivia night there which was fun! It’s a bit out of the town center but they run a very regular free shuttle service and the hostel is also right next to the beach so can’t fault the location. Only downside was there was not much common space since there were renovations going on but that’s meant to finish in a few weeks so no big deal

Fab hostel. Spotless kitchen and common areas. Friendly staff. I was in a 6 bed female en-suite room which was so spacious and comfy! Free yoga every morning and other activities available throughout the week. Walking distance to the centre along the beach or road, and they offer a free shuttle service. Lovely pool area, just wish that was open later as was gorgeous to sit by in the evening to socialise. Would 100% stay here again when next in Byron Bay.

We stayed in a 6-bed female dorm, which was very spacious and clean. The private balcony was a nice touch, though it lacked chairs or a table, which made it feel a bit pointless. The bathroom was large and very clean. However, there were no curtains on the beds for privacy, and the air-conditioning vent was placed directly above one bunk, which made it uncomfortable for whoever was sleeping there when left on overnight.|We also attended Thursday bingo night but unfortunately, when we arrived at 6 PM, all the bingo sheets had already run out and they couldn’t print more, so we missed out.|The kitchen was well-equipped with lots of space and plenty of pots and pans, but the fridges were a bit chaotic with broken shelves and food bags crammed in randomly.|Happy hour from 3–5 PM and nightly events created a fun, social atmosphere. Overall, it was a decent stay, but a few small improvements could make a big difference.

10/10 stay at wake up Byron!! Such a perfect beach front location that included a free shuttle into town free surfboards and something always going on every night! We also loved the treehouse restaurant just next door that has live music every night. Pete was so helpful we were only meant to stay 2 nights but extended our stay because we were having such a lovely time here! We can’t wait to come back and stay for longer!

I didn’t really get the hype of this hostel. It’s nicely located on the beach but otherwise felt very average. Compared to hostels in Asia it felt very basic with just a metal frame bunk bed, no privacy curtains etc. Rooms were only clean on the surface - always sand / hair everywhere, kitchen was only clean first thing in the morning, the staff doing the cleaning don’t really care. Also after 10pm the kitchen / bar were both shut so nowhere to get water from. The vibe was very cliquey and very young. Staff on reception were always super friendly and helpful though and it was decent to get a fresh towel daily.
