My husband and I celebrated our birthdays and our 43rd wedding anniversary at the amazing Mount Lofty House. The attentive staff made every moment enjoyable from reservation through to departure. Seemingly effortless service catered to our every need. We met wonderful guests and felt very welcome. Our dining experience at HVR was incredible and memorable. My dietary needs were met without fuss or compromise. A bonus treat for me at the Gatekeepers Day Spa was so relaxing. Highest praise for all staff at this wonderful South Australian luxury retreat.

An Exquisite and Unforgettable Stay at Mount Lofty House

We recently spent four unforgettable nights at the spectacular Mount Lofty House in the stunning Adelaide Hills — and what an experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, a delicious welcome drink, and fresh cookies, setting the tone for what would be an extraordinary stay.

The accommodation itself was nothing short of exquisite — beautifully restored and tastefully decorated with attention to detail and impeccable cleanliness. The historical charm of the property, combined with modern luxury and thoughtful inclusions, made it a truly special retreat.

Daily à la carte breakfasts were a delicious indulgence, and the complimentary yoga and meditation sessions added a calming touch to each morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of the estate, complete with a seasonal signature drink and a gift copy of the Mount Lofty House and Estate History book — a lovely keepsake. The wine masterclass was another highlight, offering a curated and informative tasting experience in a relaxed and elegant setting.

What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the professional, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming staff. Their care and attention to detail elevated every part of our visit.

Mount Lofty House is a rare gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you for making my first visit to South Australia so memorable and exquisite — I can’t wait to return!

From the moment of arrival we knew our stay at Mt Lofty House was going to be a luxury experience. Being greeted with a glass of mulled wine on a cold winter’s day set the scene perfectly. ||The staff have achieved customer service at an extremely high level. Everyone is professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. The accommodation is comfortable and the view from the Piccadilly rooms is beautiful. The degustation dining experience in HVR is not to be missed. A very special, delicious meal. We found it to be faultless.||I cannot recommend the entire experience highly enough. Even if you only do it once in your life, it’s worth every penny!

From our welcome glass of sparkling to Christopher's entertaining history of Mt Lofty House, held in the library, we enjoyed a wonderful stay. Our room was gracious and well appointed and the house itself has lovely spaces to sit and read, play chess, have a cocktail or enjoy a game of billiards. The grounds are stunning with spectacular views and within walking distance of the Mt Lofty Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed two dinners at Martha Hardy's restaurant where the food, wine and service were first class. The port and chocolate truffle tasting is not to be missed, held in the cellar for atmosphere. But it is the staff that sets this venue apart. They are genuinely friendly yet completely professional and nothing is too much trouble.

Simply amazing, the place is top tier. The views spectacular and the staff and service was outstanding. Chris in particular with his house tour/happy hour and Pietro, our main waiter at HVR were brilliant, made the experience even better. Can’t recommend strongly enough!!

We had a fabulous night "off the grid"|The room was very comfortable with lovely views of the wintry weather outside.|Dinner was excellent. HVR was full but we were treated to a private dining room experience with degustation menu. It was just brilliant. |We slept well and then had a lovely breakfast overlooking the changing weather patterns in the Picadilly Valley.|Mt Lofty House is our favorite place to go for some "down time"

Mount Lofty is a great wine country experience. Australia's old hotel built originally 1852. The hotel is well kept by Accor with full membership options. Staff are excellent with a helpful and friendly disposition... it would be unfair to single out William (always helpful with a smile) and Lygia as all the staff were very professional and caring. The suite is lovely if you can find an availability with a large verandah and view... Hardy's Verandah Restaurant is here with Martha Hardy's more casual next door.||Terrific location just 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD with wineries close by. Our second visit - managed by Accor with membership extras.

We had an amazing 20th anniversary at Mount Lofty House. From the moment we arrived the service was absolutely impeccable. Chris attended to our every need and made us feel very welcomed and we loved the House history tour. Special mention to the food at Martha‘s restaurant And the Picadilly breakfast which was always expertly presented and tasted amazing. Plus it’s hard to beat those views!
