Tongarra Day Sail - Shute Harbour, Queensland

Went on the day sail with my husband and 10 year old daughter on Jan 9 with Jarrod and Libby and we had a wonderful day. Tongarra has a selection of beanbags on the front deck which allow for amazing views and those who are keen to sit in the sun are able sit or lie to soak up the rays, and then 4/5 mats laid out under shade where around 8 of us sat. The sail itself was very chilled with snacks offered both on the way out and way back as well as a lovely buffet lunch. As a vego I was worried there wouldn't be much to eat but I didn't need to be, I had plenty and went back for seconds! The snorkeling out at Black Island was absolutely immense. We did have incredible weather but the reef was so beautiful and the fish were so colourful, if you floated in the current they were happy to come really close. I used a pool noodle to allow myself to really chill in the water and enjoy the experience and I'm so glad I did. My husband was happy to dive deeper and he saw some rays further under. We then went to Langford Island to the Sandbar and walked to the lookout which was an easy climb (the walk along the sand wasn't so much haha!) and we were rewarded with a stunning view. We had just enough time left over for a quick swim and a go on the banana boat (Jarrod was amazing to ensure we got a shot since we had gone to the lookout), were we spotted a turtle 🐢. We then jumped back on Tongarra for the sail back. We were lucky to spot some more turtles in the current at the other side of Langford Island and enjoyed a very chilled sail back. Thank you very much to Jarrod and Libby for a wonderful day and for looking after us so well.

This was truly a wonderful day With Nicco as our Captain & Jess, both gave us knowledge about islands 🏝 Lunch was plenty, snorkelling was very colourful along a reef, the view from Langford was well worth the small climb, Thank you both to these guys for making our day perfect, we also chatted to most people on board, so nice to hear their traveling holiday stories 😀 We had a bonus ride on a donnut tube, too much fun!
The other added bonus was sailing back watching the most magnificent sunset 🌇 😍

I am embarrassed that I posted this review to the wrong experience offered by Red Cat Adventures... it was all true - just posted in the wrong place.

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! My Tongarra experience was EXTRAORDINARY. There are no words good enough to describe the experience. It was a picture perfect day. The crew also contributed to making this experience so AMAZING! A special thanks to Shannon for her kindness, enthusiasm and professionalism. She made us all feel comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for her. To our captains Cory & Tom, you guys are also legends!

Thank you with all my heart for contributing to one of the best days of my life (even if I didn’t find Nemo - I found all the other cast members).

What an amazing day! I went out on the Tongarra yesterday and it was just perfect. It really ticked all the boxes, nice chilled out sail, a snorkel at an amazing fringing reef spot, a visit to Langford sand bar and to top it off we watched the sunset in the bay before coming home. The staff were so lovely and took care of all our needs. Also provided some really interesting cultural information on the surrounding islands. Lunc! Thank you!

They advertised an overlook walk, time at the beach, and a visit to a sandbar none of which happened because our first engine didn't work and we didn't have the right kind of gas for the one that did work. We had to wait for a gas delivery to even go snorkeling! The lunch was lunch meat sandwiches and 2 cold salads which were disgusting. They had 12 beanbags for 30 people, shade for 6 people and when it rained we all had to cram into the cabin below. Someone bled and the crew allowed it to contaminate the whole boat. They were told about it and said nothing to the person and did zero clean up. The whole boat was a biohazard!!! Of the 8 hour tour we only sailed 2 hours. Not at all what is advertised! I'd recommend picking a different company! I am very unsatisfied with my whole experience!!!

Great day chilling on the tongarra. Not all chilling though. Super fun banana boat in middle of the day. And nice snorkeling. Finishes off with a gorgeous sunset sail in to the marina.

A great day. Staff excellent, thankyou Skipper Ian and first mate Kurt. Boat comfortable, catering excellent, reef experience snorkelling very good with good coral shows and marine life. Land visit to Black Is was pleasant. Thanks Ian and Kurt ... made my day

Wow what a day... Thanks to Patrick and Captain Peyton for really making this day a memorable one.

We felt safe the whole time and where cared for like part of the crew. Our kids where looked after and cared for the whole time. We where even able to take it easy knowing the kids where being cared for.
