This is a great nature reserve right on the edge of town. The tracks are rough and under-maintained, and there are some areas with infestations of invasive species, but there are some interesting spots and lookouts. The area has an interesting geological history, and local significance to the Gamilaroi people. There are multiple trails, and it is possible to connect through to the Blackjack state forest. A great spot for bushwalks, flora and fauna, and mountain biking. Just watch out for the drop bears.
