We stayed 3 nights this week and were a little disappointed. We had such high hopes for the accommodation because it looks amazing on the website.
The staff were wonderful from start to finish. The reason for 4 stars for Service was because it felt like the most appropriate place to mark down because of the breakfast service.
- the breakfast options were the same every day, previous experiences at nice hotels have some variations each day but nothing changed all week. Some items had a funny taste and after informing the waiter, the kitchen staff said there was nothing wrong with them. We avoided those for the rest of our stay.
The room left a lot to be desired:
- terrible pillows - so flat and even when using 2 together they flattened right out. 3 days later and I still have a terrible neck ache which will cost me a trip to the physio tomorrow. Please invest in pillows representative of your image, they are so important to a hotel stay
- the bathroom door didn’t close properly
- the window in the bathroom didn’t open
- the fireplace, whilst cozy and lovely didn’t have temperature control
- the carpet and curtains were quite stained
- creaky floors all over, not just in one or 2 spots that could be avoided so when one of us got up through the night for the bathroom we woke the other
- no streaming or casting options (smart tv). We were not there to watch TV but in our down time it would have been good. Most places these days have these options.
- the fridge was cool at best with no temperature control and no freezer option
- significant maintenance is needed throughout the buildings - inside and out
The grounds are absolutely stunning but are not enough for us to return, we will return to Blackheath, but we will stay somewhere else next time. A place of this stature shouldn’t present like that.

WOW. This was our first stay in the Blue Mountains and we’ve probably ruined all future trips for ourselves. We stayed in a loft and it was huge—king bed, gas fireplace, reading nook by the window, massive bathroom with a skylight, and views of the frosty gardens out front. The breakfast was excellent (get the eggs Benedict), and the staff were lovely—gave us tips like which way to park so our car windows didn’t freeze overnight. Heads-up: ask for extra pillows before 8pm, and don’t rely on the fridge to keep stuff super cold (our cheese didn’t survive). The gardens are beautiful to walk around and it’s just minutes from Blackheath town. I usually like trying new places, but I’d absolutely come back here again.

The staff also gave us phenomenal recommendations of walks and lookouts too. Very personable!

The whole environment is very beautiful and relaxing, the room is sooo nice, clean, big and nicely equipped/set up. Staff there are very nice and friendly. The receptionist Mathildle is very kind and helpful. I am impressed that she could remember my name the next morning when we went to breakfast. We really like this hotel. Now is on the top of our favourite list in the Blue Mountain area.

The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms a generous size. Breakfast is also great. You do have to go elsewhere for the remainder of your meals but the hotel is convenient to most places. Hotel is a little dated but overall a nice experience. Would stay again.

Everything was perfect! The loft room was super spacious, sofa with fireplace, gorgeous windows to balcony overlooking the stunning garden. And the breakfast room and food was excellent. Can't wait to come again.

My mum and I visited the day spa and had an incredible experience all thanks to Katrina. She was so helpful, full of positive energy and was a fantastic masseuse. We also had access to Lilianfels for the heated pool, steam room and sauna. Couldn’t recommend this blissful experience more <3

We loved our stay at Parklands and will be back. Our Loft room was roomy, comfortable and had everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was central, only a short drive to Govetts Leap bushwalks and the shops.

So we’ve just had our 2nd stay here! First time we stayed in the garden suites , bathrooms are heated and a good cosy fireplace , the space itself was quite big and impressive! Breakfast was beautiful and the grounds are absolutely stunning! The only thing l noticed was that it looked a bit old outdated and worn - new carpets , curtains and furniture along with a repaint would bring the space back to life with a fresh clean feel.

Which brings me to my 2nd stay more recently, the new lakeside canopy lodge. It’s a gorgeous space , located on the grounds opposite the lake and it’s quite obviously new so it has a modern fresh feel - which l why l choose this accommodation type this time around. There were a few maintenance issues which meant that our first night was quite cold and uncomfortable - even after the staff had given us extra blankets - however the next morning we did chat with a gentleman/staff and he handled it perfectly and did an inspection and fixed the issues even provided us with a portable heater as a precaution - our 2nd night was much more comfortable.

All in all , would l stay here again? Yes! Staff are lovely , breakfast has been great both times and the grounds are beautiful! Also the canopy has a fire pit outside and they provided marshmallow which was a nice touch!

The only thing l would note is:

1. The rooms in general need some TLC and a refresh!

2. if you are someone who feels the cold , l would not recommend the canopy in winter as this accomodation type does not have a fireplace , only the loft and suites do.

Overall a great experience and I look forward to another stay in the future. Thank you for a pleasant experience!
