We created amazing memories at the Hydro Majestic Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mahesh — polite, kind, and truly unforgettable.

Although it was -4ºC outside, the hotel felt warm and cozy throughout — not just in our room, but in all the shared areas.

The view from our room was like a painting — as stunning as a canvas brought to life.

Breakfast was another highlight! The view of the valley was breathtaking, and the buffet was simply fantastic — fresh, delicious, and full of variety.

A big thank you on behalf of my family and friends who shared this beautiful experience with me. We’ll definitely come back!

We stayed for 3 nights for my girlfriends birthday. It was amazing as our first time there. The building itself is glorious, the views breathtaking, the staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is to die for. Couldn't fault a single thing. Even when the weather turned bad we spent the afternoon reading by the fire. Will definitely come back again. Try the twice cooked venison if you get the chance.

We’ve stayed at the Hydro Majestic many years ago and have visited from time to time in between when it was under different ownership and were always a little disappointed that the hotel was not living up to its potential. |This time it was different.|The staff seemed well trained and were well presented, the facilities had clearly benefitted from a recent $45m restoration and the room was beautifully appointed, albeit a little small (I prefer the word cozy). We were in the renovated Hydro Hotel (Belgravia) section and never noticed the noisy floorboards nor thin walls reported by others. Moreover we had absolute privacy and spectacular views through a large window overlooking over the valley.|Service in the Wintergarden Restaurant and Belgravia Lounge was crisp, and the buffet breakfast and high-tea were well presented and delicious. |Our package included a History tour by an entertaining fellow called Danny (see photo) who revelled in narrating the colourful history of the place dating back to the 1890s. |Altogether a delightful experience and definitely worth the trip for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the charms of the iconic Blue Mountains.

I would rate the food overpriced and the service received 1/10. My two girlfriends and I had planned a 3 hour train trip and HT at Hydro Majestic since last year. We had all turned 60 and were excited. We lost track of time catching up and since it wasn’t busy we thought the 90 min sitting wasn’t a problem. Wrong. Daisy asked us with 30 mins to go if we wanted take away containers and Ryan came to the table with the bill as another push out the door. We asked to be relocated in the empty restaurant but denied. We were marched out to lounge next door by the only lovely staff member Ezzi (hence the point for service). We had to take our unfinished food, cup, teapot and plate. Great customer service that was. Then Ryan kept treating us as criminals to make sure we paid the bill. I asked him if he wanted my license and a shoe as a guarantee that we would not leave before paying. Mind you they had my details because I had made a reservation. He then kept sending someone to check to see if we were still there. Meanwhile our relocation met with two cranky guests who were reading in the public lounge room and didn’t like us being there talking. When I asked Bibek why we couldn’t just relocate to another table in the Wintergarden he said he’d have to do that for everyone. The restaurant was empty. Three well dressed 60 yo women were treated like criminals and made to feel so unwelcomed. Worst $7.50 cappuccino that we have ever had, stone cold. The Hydro Majestic really needs to learn how to treat their guests.||Got a reply back from the F&B manager Bibek who was one of the staff giving the bad service. Said to him that he should not be commenting or dealing with complaints as it’s against him and his staff. ||Have not had any other communication. Save your money

We had the pleasure of enjoying high tea at the iconic Hydro Majestic Hotel in the Blue Mountains, and it was an unforgettable experience. The moment we stepped into the Wintergarden, we were swept up in the grandeur and old-world charm of the space. The panoramic views over the Megalong Valley are simply breathtaking and set the perfect scene for a relaxing and elegant afternoon.

The high tea itself was beautifully presented—three tiers of delicate savouries, freshly baked scones, and exquisite pastries. The finger sandwiches were classic but well done, and the scones (served warm) were a definite highlight, accompanied by rich jam and clotted cream. The desserts were little works of art—light, creative, and not overly sweet.

The tea menu was extensive, with everything from traditional blends to more exotic options. We appreciated the attentive but unobtrusive service—staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and let us enjoy the experience at our own pace.

The whole experience felt like a special occasion, even if you’re just popping in for the day. It’s not just about the food—it’s the atmosphere, the history, and that unbeatable view that really make it magical. Definitely recommend it for couples, small groups, or anyone looking to indulge in a bit of timeless luxury.

Loved everything about our overnight stay. The History Tour was a stand-out. Belgravia Room with it's panoramic windows & cosy lounge area. The Heritage Room was clean & comfortable with a view of the garden. The attention to detail of the hotel decor was sensational. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a lovely, relaxed getaway.

My wife and I did a luxury escape deal. it included two nights accommodation, breakfast with a glass of bubbles each, a $100 credit voucher to use across any of the bars or restaurants. When I went to book there was very little available for the times that suited and they all had an extra amount you had to pay which applied from Thursday through Saturday nights.
The guy at check in was delightful he took us to our room which was on the first floor but involved many steps to get up, no lift. Needing to have a hip replacement in a few weeks this was not going to work for me. There was no problems changing to a room at the other end of the hotel which had a lift but the other end of the hotel is almost 200 metres from the Winter Garden restaurant. Unless you upgrade to the Megalong valley rooms you'll find that they are very small rooms and look out over the highway or in our case some roofs next door.
Breakfast was very good both mornings. We had dinner the first night at the Boiler Room My lasagna was prepared adequately. However my wife had the spaghetti and she said that she could have done a better job in two minutes. Not good value for money.
We had the two course dinner at the Winter Garden the second night and were disappointed with the quality/quantity of the food except for my steak which was cooked to perfection.
Well we can now tick the hydro majestic off our bucket list but we will not be back.

Go up
