Terrible experience at Estia. My Grandmother was there for a short period of time, and we are glad that it was only a short period of time. Staff were not competent for the job or just not in the right industry. Our grandmother was found walking alone in the hallway without care, after the staff knew she needed assistance walking. The dining area was often dirty and not cleaned properly, and the kitchen itself smelt and the door was always left unlocked for the elderly residents to be able to go in which was dangerous, even though there is a sign on the door saying that it needs to be closed at all times. As for our grandmothers room, it was not cleaned properly either with the same stain left on the floor for days. It makes sense that on the last day when we went to collect our grandmothers belongings to move her to another Nursing Home (we are able to compare, and Estia was terrible), another resident near our grandmothers room was very upset as she expressed that she did not like being in that nursing home - makes sense. Another misleading thing about Estia - their google reviews that just have five stars are all of their staff members. Way to be obvious. Do not bother leaving an automated reply to this review also! My grandmother, just like every other resident there was just a financial transaction, as shown by the lack of empathy shown from Head Office staff. It is too upsetting to repeat. All in all, please think twice about sending your loved one here. There are some very good nursing homes out there, this one unfortunately is not one of them. If your family is struggling with your loved one, please, have the patience to find a good home first instead of placing them in the first one that becomes available. We did extensive research and this one appeared to be good. Really disappointing to say the very least. There are just some people who are not cut out to be in the Aged Care industry, and unfortunately, a lot of the staff both head office and floor staff are not. A note to Head Office also, based on some brief discussions and observations with your floor staff, it seems like you are understaffed too. For example, when it was Diwali Festival, there was lack of staff present, meaning residents were calling out and werent able to be attended to fast enough - how can you do and allow that for an aged care! I will also mention that my grandmothers medication was forgotten on a couple of occasions and sugar not checked - we had to ask. I am normally not one to give a review, unless it is a really good restaurant for example, but I would not want any other family to go through what we went through, truly.

I found Estia health at Blakehurst to be very informative when we went there for a tour.
Rochelle was amazing in showing us around and answering all of our questions
Since then my mum absolutely loves living there.
The staff and the nurses are all very caring and communicate to us if there is a problem
I would not hesitate to recommend Estia at Blakehurst to anyone
We have been very impressed as has my mother .

I've had my mum in Estia for 2 years. I am so happy with the care. Very nice facility Very caring dedicated staff, everyone from nurses, reception, carers, cook are friendly, caring and treat mum so well. Melissa Sherman is lovely, so helpful and caring.

Would not recommend this aged care facility to anyone. They mistreated our grandmother and the culture amongst the staff is toxic.

Would not let my dog stay here. They wouldn't get fed properly, or be given their medication on time, God help them if they have dementia. I would give them zero stars but it's not an option

Well why hasn’t he had his tablets today it’s after 9am -Dad at this point shaking uncontrollably and upset .
Again I quote Melissa Sherman “Sorry We only have agency nurses on here and we have 35 others on this floor who all need their meds at 7am -“this is the best we can do “
The place is advertised like it’s a 5 Star Hotel Don’t be fooled -Yes it looks great- nice and clean and new but
-PLEASE Do not leave your loved ones at this place unattended -
If your loved one has Dementia or cannot speak up Please Please do not do it to them .
We were promised dad would be able to see a Physio amongst other services - this does not happen .
•The food -well all I can say is don’t order the scrambled eggs.
•The staff -Not a happy face amongst them -Nice people just looks like they don’t like where they work . One staff member said it’s my first day here I won’t be back
•Laundry -Signs everywhere -families must take home clothes for laundry -Guess what All his clothes went missing !
