We had a lovely lunch. It was one of the lunchtime specials and it didn’t disappoint. Generous serving of fish chips and salad. Cooked well and tasted nice and fresh. The staff are friendly. Good menu to choose from and a fairly decent wine list as well. Nice spacious pub. Will certainly return.

Was really impressed by the staff at the pub. Really kind and considerate. Recently dined at the pub with my partner. Ordered only 1 steak meal and 2 drinks. They gave me my order number stand and we sat at our table. About 20 minutes later my meal hadn't arrived so I wandered to the serving area with my order stand to check. I didn't see any steak ready on the serving area so went back to my table. Literally 30 seconds later the lady behind the serving area came to and asked me what I had ordered as she saw the order number I was holding and said she did not have a ticket for that number (some system glitch). It was really kind of her to come check on me proactively. She took my order manually and went back to make my steak. In 5 minutes another waitress came and apologised to us and even offered us another drink for the inconvenience. Was really touched by their kindness. Looking forward to coming back again.

What a hole of a place, like the roach motel.

Room freezing
Spare blanket stunk
Thin bed cover was stained
Noise
Bathroom freezing
Couldn’t wash my hair, shower was boiling, you add cold on the mixer & the shower goes cold. Wouldn’t mix
Woke up by a sawing with a circular saw, so loud at 8am.
Chairs moving above all night

Waste of money, not well slept and not clean. Avoid guys

Extremely disappointing experience. My husband and I booked a room at Figtree Hotel over the phone and drove 4.5 hours from Wagga to attend a friend’s birthday in Wollongong. When we arrived around 4:20pm, we approached the bar to check in and spoke with Joel (the manager on duty). He sighed loudly, put his head in his hands, and said the internet was down so he couldn’t check us in. He was dismissive, unhelpful, and made us feel like we were the problem rather than paying guests.

We offered solutions like paying cash or providing ID, but he made no effort to assist. Despite telling us to “give him 5 minutes,” he spent the next 20 minutes serving drinks and chatting with customers instead of trying to help. Eventually, we were told to go to dinner and “come back later” to maybe check in.

We completely understand tech issues happen, but a little kindness and professionalism would have gone a long way. Instead, we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome, and had to scramble for last-minute accommodation. Very disappointing, especially after being past regulars here.

Really decent hotel in Wollongong. Great stuff, a lovely bartender who talked to the manager twice, and so the manager organized our room very last minute and saved our life from sleeping at the beach. And I must say... it was the best night during our holiday time 😊 Good wine and beer. Easy access. Big car park. It is a YES from me 💜

Good little pub with cheerful staff and great beer. Parking can be challenging as it is not very big specifically on weekends. However stop there when going by, you won't be disappointed.

I booked a room last night the 4th January for 1 night ,, I came down with my partner to spend the night there after I had to go to work in the area last night,, I arrived back to the hotel around 7pm and my partner and I decided to go downstairs to enjoy a couple of drinks and some dinner before intending on listening to the music and playing the pokies ,, it was all going well we were enjoying our drinks and dinner outside when Joel a worker/manager came just outside the doors where the restaurant is and yelled at my partner that he had better not be smoking in a non smoking area ,, I found this to be quite rude and my partner was very embarrassed and agitated that Joel had spoken like that to us ,, neither of us were vaping nor did we intend to vape ,, we were eating,, there’s was a vape on the table next to us that my partner had placed on the table instead of sitting on it in his pocket,, after this incident I finished my drink,, we got our dinner taken away and we packed up and left ,, we were gone by 10pm ,, we did not stay ,, I spoke with max and handed him the keys back and also put the complaint into him about what happened,, it would have been ok if Joel had approached us and spoken with us but he yelled across at us so everyone could hear ,, which is very unprofessional and was not needed As we didn’t stay the night due to this incident as my partner and myself didn’t feel comfortable being there and was no longer enjoying a night away ,, we came from Penrith for the night and I’d like to be refunded for it ,,

I’m visiting from the Central Coast and went to Yours & Owls Festival located in Wollongong. I have enjoyed an amazing weekend staying at The Figtree Hotel. Not only is it walking distance to the local shopping centre, it’s also just a quick bus ride into town. Before heading to Day 2 of the festival, I decided to have lunch at their bistro and the chicken leek pot pie did not disappoint. It was very filling, very saucy and the sides were delicious, this meal kept me filled. Coming back from the festival, I had dinner but this time I decided to try the slow cooked lamb riblets and the 300g Grainge scotch fillet and hooly dooly that fillet is the biggest i’ve ever seen. Very tasty, cooked to my sort of perfection of being medium rare with Dianne gravy to go a long with it. Central coast pubs needa up their game, they could really learn a thing or two. 12/10 I highly recommend!!
