Absolutely Brilliant trip. Well organised and very tasty. The Guides were informative and very helpful. And a free glass of Champagne while eating Oysters and King Prawns standing knee-deep in waders. (which are supplied by the tour). No special clothing required, just make sure you visit the loo before boarding and apply Sunblock. Also remember to bring extra drinks as one glass of champagne is not enough (for me anyway). They tell you all about the history of harvesting and breeding Oysters in the Sydney area. I would definitely go again and take a friend along. Smiling faces all round.

Great experience. Very informative with a full history lesson on the foundation of the Oyster in Australia to the current ups and downs of the industry.

Great boat ride up through Mullet Creek to the leases onto the free standing table’s where you get dressed in water proof gear to walk out knee high into the water.

Demonstration on how to shuck the oyster then time to devour with fresh prawns and champagne “all supplied”

The information on booking advises “long pants” etc not needed. Dress accordingly to the conditions and enjoy the great experience.

An absolute unique experience. We were picked up at Kangaroo Point Wharf and taken out by boat to the Oyster Leases and then to some tables made up in the water where we got to experience a lesson in shucking oysters and eating them fresh with some of the best vinaigrette I have ever tasted with elderflower. The educational talk about the ecology and lifespan of oysters and the laborious efforts in the farming process added to the richness of this tour. Sheridan is a wealth of knowledge and was hospitable and friendly to each and every one of us on the tour. I am so grateful of this experience and highly recommend for those that love oysters to take this opportunity

What a highlight, I’m SO glad we prioritized this. Very helpful preparation tips leading up (FYI the waders are sized based on shoe size), and even on a slightly choppy day they did a great job of keeping us dry and comfortable. Tom was so knowledgeable and his talk on the history of oyster farming in the area was very helpful context. The crew helped with tips to make shucking easy & safe. Sheridan shared her expertise on the oysters and what to look for. The experience was unforgettable and delicious, and there was no shortage of oysters to shuck & eat!

We were blessed to have fabulous weather for our experience. But everything about it was brilliant.
The extremely knowledgeable and personable Tom picked us up and took us to the oyster lease, where he gave us a very informative talk about the history of oysters…who knew?
Then we zoomed over to another spot, with some extraordinary sight seeing; where we donned waders and stood knee deep in the Hawkesbury and learned how to shuck oysters, then we ate them, as well as some delicious fresh prawns.
There was a glass of bubbles as well, for those who wanted it.
I highly recommend this trip for oyster lovers. Sydney Rock, ultra fresh and delectable.

This is probably one of my best most favourite local experiences during my time here in Sydney. No other experiences come close to this oyster farm tour led by Sheridan and her Brother.

Fresh oysters right at the source, passionate oyster farmers helping the family business succeed, with an innovative way of turning the business around. All the many stories were thoroughly enjoyable, and you'd not get these stories anywhere else.

Don't dress fancy, as you're likely exposed to the sun and water throughout the day. Bring a spare towel just in case as well.

As tourists, we didn't drive unlike all the other participants. Sheridan picked us up along one of the other nearby public wharfs (Brooklyn Public Baths), before speeding through to her family's farm on one of her harvesting boats.

Over there, she explained the processes, the fun facts, the history over the last few years, and where the family got to where they got to. She also provided background context on how their oysters end up in the markets and restaurants, to be served to us diners.

The information gave us so much more appreciation to why oysters are always seen to be so expensive, but in actual fact so much uncontrollable weather related risks are involved behind the scenes.

After which, we drove to a little bay nearby, where it's a "farm to table" experience, with champagne. She'd group her participants together, and teach each table how we were supposed to shuck our own oysters, the professional farmer way. Then off we went with our own set of oysters and live prawns, coupled with a bottle of Moet and our own BYO. All prepared by her brother before we arrived.

After everyone's done, we were then sent back to where we were all picked up from, before the evening ends.
