This evening we managed to experience one of the worst Italian dinners ever. Aperitif: Aperol spritz - at least what was on the beverage list and what we ordered. Received some orange juice with soda water. $44 for a calamari fritti is not bad nowadays for a main size, but it is if you get a smallish entree size instead. I am not sure what we would have found (if anything) on the plate if had ordered the entree size...The entree size tripe was very tasty and would order it any time if I would ever go back to this place. The seafood spaghetti overcooked, and sauce made with bottled garlic, blend and really tasteless sauce and just traces of cheap seafood. The veal saltinbocca was actually made from yearling but luckily only about 100grams of meat and an invisible thickness slice of prosciutto may have been folded in it. The veal parmigiana (also yearling - of course) and also tiny but at least tasty. Both 2 veal dishes came with steamed half of a small carrot, 2 tiny zucchini pieces and 2 quarter pieces of a baby potato. We had really high expectations by looking at the prices and the names of the dishes. The 2 elderly guys running the show there could not care less about our comment regarding the size of the calamari when paying the bill. First and last time visited this place.

Went there for dinner tonight. I have been wanting to get back to the restaurant for years and glad we did. It reminds me of eating good quality Italian food made by mum.. good food. Good wine. Quiet cosy restaurant.

Keep up the good work.

50 plus years of history and going strong.

Well done 👏

Despite the name, it was not a good evening! A disappointing experience, if you do attend save yourself the high expectation based on previous reviews. Food was very underwhelming, sad portions and not worth the excessive pricing. So much so that we believed we had been given an entree when ordering the calamari fritti rather than a main course size (roughly 10-15 pieces of small calamari slices is what you’ll get for $44). If the food quality was great, we would’ve gladly paid any price but the veal we ordered wasn’t even veal (it was yearling) and they even used canned garlic in some of the meals which could very much be distinctly tasted. Running a restaurant is hard, our experience tonight definitely showed how difficult it now is for them.

Our dining experience started at the restaurant entrance. Buonasera is an exceptionally well presented traditional Italian restaurant. We were promptly welcomed at the door and shown to a table. Music and songs from famous singers like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and others played quietly in the background, making a pleasant start to our dining experience. The menu choices were classic high end Italian. The wine list was ample with top of the range wines. The Moscato I choose is one of the best I have ever tasted. A perfect balance of berry and sweetness. I choose chicken cacciatore for my mains. It was perfectly prepared and presented. My wife choose spaghetti marinara, thats was perfect as well. Later we enjoyed as serve of Tiramisu, that was the best I have ever tasted. I ordered an expresso coffee. It was that good it did not need sugar. It was perfect on its own. A wonderful Traditional Italian dining experience that was well worth the cost. We will definately dine their again.

An Italian restaurant that I have never tried before even though I have driven past it many times. A good menu selection and a large wine list, friendly efficient service and good food. Prices are a little expensive but for real Italian food we thought it was worth while. The empty plate in the picture says it all.

Cosy, traditional Italian food. The gnocchi is my comfort food.
