Never heard of this place before and only went because of the reviews and had to check it out ourselves... We were definitely not disappointed... What a magnificent, homely, welcoming place with amazing atmosphere and History, food was delicious and the shed behind the hotel that hides what this hotel is all about, from bull riding to music. The 2 days we were there they didn't have any events, but will definitely be back to experience one in the future..

I heard they had amazing steaks.far from it! I was after the 500g angus rump as advertised well they never had any the next best thing was a 350g rump at medium rare it tasted like a rubber tube.the bar staff were awesomely friendly, completely opposite to the girl taking my order at the restaurant. Upon goin home I asked this same girl for a doggy bag container. Boy if looks could kill I would've been dead.she wanted $1.50 for the cardboard container. I then said no thanks and left. Didn't even look back to see the reaction.you guys need to do some work on your front of house staff. P.s once again your bar staff were awesome. They deserve a pat on the back and maybe a pay increase.

The pictures of the food and the review speaks for itself. One of the best steakhouse I have in rocky.

Beautiful ambience with kids running around on Wednesday kids eat free night.

The queue at the counter was forever long. Not because the service was slow but the place is crazy popular.

While the place was crowded. It didn’t take too long for the food to come!

Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends when I’m in town again.

We took a massive detour from our roadtrip to try what was supposedly one of the best places to enjoy steak in Rockhampton - the “Steak Capital of Australia”. Turns out they can’t even cook a steak properly. My medium rare came out very well done. So much for it being “award winning”.

Oh and we booked the arena seating, but when we got there they told us there was a gala dinner being hosted in the arena and we’d have to sit elsewhere. The menu was also limited and items were unavailable. A thorough disappointment from start to finish. Don’t bother.

Ordered a $48 medium rare steak, they had a sign up saying 45 minute wait. The first steak arrived 1 and a half hours after ordering and arrived medium well. Told the waitress and she said she will get it sorted in 7 minutes.
10 minutes later another steak had arrived, with still the same mash and veg that was originally on the plate, so they just took the steak off the plate, put the mash and veg under the heat lamp while they cooked the new steak. Which turned out blue this time.

Generally all the staff are very young and were more interested in talking to their friends than serving customers.

They had received some best steak award from triple m. But definitely never going back to this place.
