We definitely recommend this place 200%, we had a great time!!! The owner is just a pure sweet soul who thinks about his employees and his clients before his money. It's a very familiar warm ambiance and a safe space. In general the hotel was very beautiful (with nice paintings), the room was lovely and the food was also really good (Tom is a top chef)! The service was also extra with Angelique, who is very fun, kind and helpful. Thank you all for everything, we appreciate it!!! 😊

Just OK. I was disappointed that our room was out the back in a modern(ish) annexe. Ground level floor had a sliding door access to a back alley with no security screen. Room was adequate, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Parking was great.

If you have to tell your family, "Hey, we're only here for one night.", you know that the accommodations are subpar. I had considered not leaving a review of this place until I was prompted to do so. This is a hotel that gives off motel vibes! The check-in desk reminded me of the opening scene from movies when I was a child... Picture a high desk with a small cage atop it through which the attendant conducted business. The only thing missing would have been a physical registry book to which we could have logged our names. The facade of the building is impressive, alas the rest of the property is lacking. The carpet in the hallways is dark and aged. The hallway paint is dull from age or over application. Walls are marked from countless bags or carts scrapping against them. On our walk to and from our room, the air dripped with the smell of a cooking spice and disinfectant. The positive was that there was at least a disinfectant being used. Our room furniture and carpet had numerous stains. Both cushions on the sleeper sofa had what could be described as matching claw marks on either end that spanned the cushion from front to back. My son said his back hurt after sleeping on it. On the plus side, the AC worked, the bathroom was large, and the towels clean. Additionally, we did not see any critters in our room. In the spirit of full disclosure, I have never stayed in a hotel in Rocky. Other places were available for 2.5x the price. If travel does take me and my family yo Rocky, I may have to cough up the extra dough. The choice is up to you. PS: I was so uninspired by this place that I did not take a single picture.

I recently stayed for 1 night while passing through Rockhampton (which is a trip I've made dozens of times over 2 decades). Rockhampton generally has limited options for nice, clean, quiet and safe accommodation. So I must say this hotel was a surprising new-ish addition. I usually stay out at Yeppoon or at the Mercure, Edge or Kortes. I had a ground floor room that was large, clean, quiet and reasonably appointed. Only negative was curtains that won't close properly and a musty smell in the hallway. Parking was easy, included and off street. Check-in was nice and efficient. Overall this is a solid option to avoid the numerous roach motels dotted along the main roads in Rocky. Definitely worth a look 👌

We initially stayed at this hotel for one night and returned 5 days later, but our second visit was unfortunately disappointing due to the management.

The hotel itself is a clean, budget-friendly option with decent rooms and a good location. It's within walking distance of the riverfront and local supermarkets. The swimming pool was well-kept, and the check-in process was straightforward. There’s also a restaurant on-site, though we didn’t have a chance to try it. They reluctantly stored a folded down travel stroller for us in between stays (unusual for a hotel not to have a baggage hold location).

However, our experience soured significantly when checking in for our our second stay. We were unexpectedly and loudly shamed by management for disposing of a nappy in the room bin during our previous stay. We were informed that this had caused the room to be closed for two days for additional cleaning, which they implied was due to our filth. When we inquired about where to properly dispose of such items, the response was unhelpful ("do you do this in your own home?), and we were told to use a dumpster behind the hotel—information that was not provided during check-in, written on any signage, or mentioned in the lengthy 14-page guest information booklet.

Moreover, when we requested assistance with booking a taxi to the airport—a service that WAS mentioned in the guest booklet—we were instructed to make the arrangements ourselves.

While I fundamentally agree that nappies should be disposed of properly where facilities are available, some basic communication is required. As a side note... the nappies in question hadn’t even been used for a bowel movement, which makes the situation even more perplexing.

We stayed overnight on our way back to Sydney after our holiday. The place has been recently renovated, making it very clean, with a spacious bathroom and friendly staff. Excellent value for the price.
