Our guide, Sam is a true professional and a great bloke to boot. Being only the 2 of us , I think we got the gold tour. Please thank him for us!
We had all our expectations met plus more.
Having my father serve in ww2 and knowing people in my youth who had been POWs I had this journey on my list, to pay respect for what they did for our country.
Both Lloyd and I were truly moved by the Hellfire Pass and cemetery visits.
The history and stories presented at the museums enhanced our understanding of what occurred.

Thank you John and crew. I enjoyed the whole experience, I really enjoyed your and Dan’s knowledge of the whole perspective. Initial reinforcement, Japanese advance throughout early 1942 and then the nightmare of the Death Railway. Also the personal stories for me were fantastic, I loved the second hand and yet first hand experience thanks to those stories.

What an experience and so hard to sum up.

Professionally organised, outstanding tour guide (Ms Mam), safe bus travel (Mr Ray), comfortable accommodation, interesting and brilliantly structured tour along with heart wrenching moments of historical learning.

Our three day “Best of the River Kwai and Railway” tour was so much more than we could have expected … we have come away proud to be Australian and in debt to those men and women who served (and suffered) so that we can be free!

Highly recommended … it is impossible to have this experience in a one day tour.

I have recently returned from the Australia in Vietnam tour. The experience far exceeded my expectations. Hotel accommodation and transport were of a very high standard. My guides Mr Sang and Ms Houng were just fantastic and were a mine of information. My drivers were also first rate, especially Mr Thiep who covered the Vung Tau leg.

I love Vietnamese food so when I mentioned that Shaking Beef (Bo Luc Lac) was my favourite dish, both guides arranged for me to eat at local restaurants in HCMC which specialised in the dish.

A particular highlight was the Robert Taylor Arms Museum in Vung Tau. I was not aware of this amazing place!

Just returned from the 3 day ANZAC Day tour at Hellfire Pass in Thailand. The trip was extremely well organised with a good balance of attractions and free time to explore in more detail if required. The guide and driver were excellent and John, Dan and Tim from Historic War Tours were a fountain of knowledge about the railway and the conditions under which the prisoners and the locals toiled.
I thoroughly recommend Historic War Tours.

your 3-day tour for Anzac Day dawn service 2025 at hell fire pass was an amazing experience, and to walk through hell fire pass after everyone had gone after the dawn service was an experience I will never forget.
The whole tour was well organized and ran well with local tour guide and great accommodation and food.
I would highly recommend this tour.

Just had a great 3 day 2 night tour to Hellfire Pass. Death Railway.. River Kwae.
Mr Sam is an excellent experienced guide with alot of historical and local knowledge. The trips to the cemeteries and museums were very informative and it was great to pay my respects to the fallen. Also the temple visited was a great touch to the trip.
Mr Tim is an excellent driver..great skills.
