Staff were great. Rooms nice, location great. But the damn aircon? Who decided to lock it at 22 degrees?!

I turned it off when I was awake because it was to cold and then woke up lathered in sweat. Fun times.

The hotel was clean, and the room was spacious. We booked an accessible room. However, the bathroom had a strong sewage smell coming from the drains.
Room service kept going offline, and when we asked why, they said they were short-staffed. When this occurred, there was no accessible way of ordering food via telephone. This is not great when you have mobility issues, hence the accessible room. The food was great when we managed to order it.
Overall, I would only stay here again due to the location and proximity to the airport.
I would eat at the restaurant again without hesitation.

Arrived in reception to check in..receptionist was on the phone and remained on the phone for over 15minutes…she could not care less that she had two guests waiting to check in.. No ‘customer service’.

Ordered an Eye Fillet for room service delivery. Asked for it to cooked to ‘medium’. When I cut into it the meat was uncooked throughout.. raw. $48 for the meat alone! What a waste!
I left a note on the tray.. no response.
Only stay here you have an early flight the next morning. The staff could not care less!

Close to the airport! It’s an Ibis so you shouldn’t expect a fancy hotel. But it’s functional and is good for a work hotel or if you have an early flight. Comfy beds for sure. Great air conditioning. The restaurant is too expensive - go elsewhere. |Something that puzzled me about the room - there was alcohol, soft drink and snacks in the room but no minibar list, no information on what it was for etc etc. I didn’t touch it but without any information- maybe it’s complimentary?

The Ibis Mackay Airport is part of my companies commute home. After two weeks of work in the beautiful coal mining town of Moranbah it’s a pleasant oasis before my flight home the next day.
Kushal (front desk) greets guests warm, professional and friendly every time. Price verses facilities.
The rooms are clean and comfortable which offer some great views of the surrounding tomography.
Swimming pool is a 15m lap style pool 23c. The Gym needs an upgrade by someone who knows the basics of gym equipment.
The restaurant is very well matched to meals and price. The staff are caring, professional with a focus on customer service. Hence why I have given five stars 🌟

Free parking for guests. Easy check in. Bed is so comfortable. Fridge with choice of snacks and drinks. Restaurant with nice meals. Room service everyday. Located across Mackay airport, simply and conveniently walk with your bags to airport.

Stayed here a few times before flights and also as a stopover for fatigue management when driving. Comfy beds, foods pretty good and overall nothing to complain about. Free parking which is a bonus.

Had a pleasent overnight stay. The rooms are modern and adequate size. We did not get a chance to use the full facilities. Very quick access to the airport.
