What a way to start our hike! John was great 👍 he pointed out things on the journey over to the island and had us all looking out for sea life, too. Managed to spot a humpback or 2 and was definitely a highlight of our hike 🐳🏝
The trip was quick, simple, and easy to find. One of our group members had downloaded his app, and it was invaluable!
Even after our hike, John found us in the pub and shared some stories of the island and its history, and we shared a bit of our trip, including the echidna spot! 🍺
Would recommend and hope to use Absolute North Charters again in the future! 😊

From the second we booked, to the minute we walked away from the dock, our experience with Absolute North Charters, and the legend who goes only by "John", was top notch.

John was honest and a wealth of knowledge, and managed to rustle up a wild humpback & it's calf for our excited pleasure on the way to Hinchinbrook! 🐳

He gave us all the hot tips for the best places to see wildlife on the island, and had many a tale to tell. We got the feeling he would do absolutely anything to make our time in this special place an absolutely magical experience.

We experienced a great service from John, picking us up from the Lucinda beachfront then running our group of 6 to the north starting at the Ramsay Boardwalk.
The bonus for us was due to the flat sea John took us up the eastern side of the island which had beautiful views of the mountains.
Enroute John pointed out some highlights along the way.
Pick up from George Point was easily done with a short trip back to the Lucinda Beach front.
Everything went perfectly with a professional and knowledgeable skipper at the helm.

Once again John has lived up to the legend. He took us up the east coast of Hinchenbrook island to the start of the Thorsborne track. This is the second time we have hiked this amazing island, and it is one of our favourite walks. Thanks again John for your great service and local knowledge. PS love the new boat!

If you're planning to tackle the Thorsborn Trail on Hinchinbrook Island, the only thing that can make the trip even more incredible than the island itself is her favourite son, John, from Absolute North Charters.
His Love and knowledge of the island, delivered in his dinkum Aussie style, is something you never knew you wanted in your adventure, but you will always remember and be grateful for.

100% book your transfer with John from Absolute North Charters. He picked us up from the bus the day before to take us to our accommodation for the night, then picked us up in the morning as well to get us to the boat ramp. John made sure we had everything we needed for our hike, looking after us as if we were his own kids. The 5-minute boat ride back is an added bonus.

Wow what unbelievable service. Cannot speak highly enough of John and his business. No trouble having to cancel one of the bookings for a refund (make sure to cancel the NP permit which everyone should do).
John is a wealth of knowledge and also gave suggestions and advice regarding everything to do with Hinchinbrook Island and the Thorsborne Trail. A true blue legend.
