It's a nice place with plenty of flat ground for camping. There are toilets and paid hot water showers. It would have been five stars if not for the midges.

The midges are bad, and I mean seriously bad. We were in a group of 14. 8 adults and 6 kids. No one escaped a few midget bites, but 3 adults and 2 kids copped it hard. If you have any form of reaction to sand flies or midges, I would stay well away.

The entrance is via sand track only.

There is a boat ramp, but it is not concrete or rock; it is sand/mud; at low tide, you need to leave your boat in the water as plenty did and then head back at medium-high tide to get your boat.

Firewood is available on site either by the bag or tractor bucket.

There's one large camping area with trees around the perimeter, but the middle campsites don't have much shade.

It is a great spot. During school holiday period we were one of only 3 groups camping at the site.

Grounds are excellent, nice little pontoon to fish off and could also launch a boat.

Toilets and showers clean and functional.

Couple of things to consider:

Access to the place I imagine could be quite difficult in wet weather. Absolutely need 4x4. Signs on the neighbouring properties fence line indicate that getting bogged there might be common.

I only stayed one night, as planned, but honestly could not stay longer. Our brand new tent we found out is not midgie proof. Even with a heap of aerogard on, me and the son were eaten alive. It honestly was unbearable, so many of them and they are relentless.

It’s a 5 star spot, but the sand flies really do ruin it. Perhaps they are not around all year?

Unreal camp site !

Stayed for two nights and had the place to ourselves great large camping area with fire pits supplied.

Short walk to the pontoon for fishing on the river. Lots of wild life throughout the property

Staff are very friendly and good facilities on-site

Highly recommend this camp-site for all with four wheel drives

Riverside is a nice quiet place to pull up for a day or 2. The site is flat and spacious. Fire drums mark the spots for the sites. There is clean toilets x 2 and 2 hot showers. The manager does an intro with each new arrival. When the wind is on the river becomes inaccessible and the small pontoon easily fits 3 people to fish from. But if your looking for a quiet place to rest up it’s lovely.

Great long weekend away. Quiet place with some good tracks found in the NP. Kids had a great time, putting their bodies on the line to catch mys crabs. Friendly owners with local knowledge and decent prices for ice, wood and mozzie spray (which is a must). Thank you, we'll be back!

Great camp-site for those who prefer the quieter getaway in nature. Well done to Daniel & Rachel who are creating a great 4wd camping getaway beside the river. Great shower & toilet amenities kept very clean & Hygienic. Caught 5 Bream & 3 whiting off the public jetty in Burrum Heads. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days here.

This is a lovely camping area but the midges make life here complete hell. We ended up leaving a day early because we were getting eaten alive, despite covering ourselves in tropical strength Aeroguard. Me and my 9yo son had to visit the doctor today because we have so many bites and they're getting infected.

In summary:
Pros:
- massive open grassed area with loads of space
- easy access to a boat ramp if you fish
- very clean toilets, saw them getting cleaned several times a day
- hot showers (that cost $1 for 3 minutes though)
Cons:
- The midges. OMG the midges.
- Noise is not policed. The idiots near us ran a generator late into the night.
- The toilets/showers are a massive hike away, around 300 meters.
