Finding the entry was difficult as we had to navigate through a Coles car park. The apartment was mainly clean except for the fridge and the dishwasher. Milk provided only had one day left on the expiry date. Comfortable bed but couldn’t sleep because of freight trains throughout the entire night and morning. Tap in bathroom was very hard to turn on and off. Whilst shower head sprayed everywhere and unable to adjust for height.

Stumbled across the Portman House on an over night stay on scone! So glad we booked here!
Location is perfect!!
Parking with a trailer was a breeze with ample parking offsite behind the building!
The apartment was perfect!
Modern, clean and very spacious!! The beds are super comfortable!
Will definitely book again next time we need to stay in scone!

I have been a long term resident here due to work commitments.
I have absolutely loved my stay! The room is so comfortable and well located.
The staff always have my room feeling clean and amazing. I have everything that I need.
It’s centrally located which has been perfect for me to walk to coles or other food outlets.
The trains can be heard, but they can basically be heard anywhere along Scone given the close proximity to the lines. They’re not really a bother at all.

Fantastic little place with large rooms and comfortable beds. Great service - friendly and approachable. Traveling with missus and bub and late arrival was no hassle with loads of room for the port a cot in the studio apartment. Continental breakfast was above standard. Great apartment and better than some $500 a night places I've stayed at. Great work Erin and Co, if we're ever back your way we'll stay again!

Room was 100% perfect, clean modern spacious and had everything we needed. A delicious continental breakfast was provided, which was a lovely surprise and made the stay even easier. Charged up the Tesla Model 3 overnight so we could hit the road with a full tank the next day. Will be staying here again soon.

The Portman house is my favorite place to stay in Australia! The apartments are very nice and laundry machines in each unit easily make this my favorite! The owner is so helpful and even delivered a new hot plate in a rainstorm within a few minutes of being notified that I needed a new one! It’s a no hassle, perfect location to stay if you’re passing through or staying in Scone. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone! You will not be disappointed! Go give it a try!!

Accessing this accommodation is via a shopping centre car park which runs along the railway line. These are probably the two things that let this accommodation down - the location next to the Coles loading bay and the 24-hour trains that use their horns right alongside the location of the accommodation.||||The rooms themselves are well laid-out, with good facilities and are very comfortable. However, the sound-proofing isn't sufficient to keep the railway and loading dock noise out and a coal train goes past at least every two hours. Everyone in the family spent a lot of time discussing the noise from the railway lines. The curtains on the sliding doors are blackout but one window near the bed is just a Venetian blind which let light in during the night (not great for the light sleepers).||||Unfortunately, the noise of trains and loading dock far outweighed the quality of the rooms and led to poor quality sleep each night during our stay.

Travelling through the Hunter Valley and stayed for a couple of nights in Scone. Decided to stay at Portman House as the photos looked great and the reviews were good. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The apartment was as good as the photos (which isn't always the case). It was very clean and had a great design. ||However, it was the thought and attention to detail that was very impressive, and it was lots of little things that added up to an exceptional experience. The quality throughout showed. Some examples: the toiletries were Sukin, not some small bottles of generic stuff; the mattress was a quality Sleepmaker; extra pillows of different levels of firmness were provided; pillows for the outdoor furniture were in the cupboard; the undercover car parking had sensor lights; the bedside clock had two USB charging ports on the front; none of the walls joined onto other apartments, which eliminated noise from neighbours - all apartments were separated on each side the car space and additionally on one side by the outdoor area; a security gate was present to reduce the chance of problems; the milk in the fridge was a full carton of real milk, not small packages of UHT milk. I could go on with more, but I think you probably have the idea.||It is also centrally located, with a great pub just up the road and Coles nearby.||In all, a place we would return to in an instant.
