Hands down the most unprofessional exchange I've experienced dealing with Australia Post.
I've been served by the manager there before, and they were lovely. The other two employees that work there, are rude, abrupt and not helpful at all. I found their professionalism extremely lacking.

This is a review of Australia Post in general not of Hamilton PO.
I ordered a parcel from Laminex Australia with Express Post for $15 to send me samples of products to make a decision that needs to be made by today. Delivery failed today after taking 3 days to get here, and is being sent to Hamilton at great inconvenience. I have selected leave in a safe place at front door but the parcel was not left.
Express post is a rip off. I will now have to collect it from Hamilton where there is NO parking, 2 days late and too late for me to make decisions urgently.

Went in today to get passport photos done and process renewal application. Lady who served us was patient, super polite, and efficient. Shame I didn't catch her name, she deserves kudos for doing her job well.

The lady that served me today was rude. I asked if my Express Post parcel would be sent today. She said "yes it will". I've checked tracking this afternoon and it's still sitting at the post office. So not only rude but also give out false information.

Frequently post parcels here as well as collect them. Staff are very friendly, helpful and also patient with tricky customers. Sometimes the wait is long but the staff do the best they can.

Staff is rude and inattentive. The person that served me was ready to have a go at me and I wasn’t even complaining about anything. You would guess that if you’re new at something, you’d at least try to learn a new skill but her manager had to force her to learn as she DID NOT want to assist me at all.
Working hours are ridiculous. You won’t be able to make it if you have 9-5 job.
I wish I could give minus rating instead of just one star.

Look for what it's worth, it almost was a one star. I was begrudging at the early closing times like everyone else. Being new in town I naturally needed to order a lot of things to set myself up. Namely cutleries etc. A mistake in signature required caused a lot of issues as rather than dropping it off, ended up being diverted 1minute down the road.

Moving heaven and earth I somehow managed to get off work 15m early to try race from New Lambton Heights to get here on time. Alas, I was 2 minutes late. The ladies were counting the till as they wrapped up. I helplessy begged only to be met with headshakes and gestures of denial. My heart sank.

Until one lady found it in her heart to kindly unbolt half a dozen locks and change the setting on the automatic door to open up for me, just me, to get my darn cutlery. Understandably frustrated, she begrudgingly fetched my parcel. Little did she know that little act of kindness saved my day, possibly week, or even month. So five stars for putting yourselves out to save my life.

They now only open 9-5 on weekdays and blame it on covid - yet others in the area open at 7, on weekends etc so that sounds like a poor excuse.

If you have a job it’s impossible to rescue your parcel. Even when you go there, the ladies are chatting to one another as the queue snakes out the doors so every collection becomes an expedition. If I could go to any other post office I would.
