I was so disappointed; we were trying to buy some fetta at the deli, and there were two staff when I called for some help; the lady just yelled at us rudely and said, can't you wait? We are willing to wait but try to be friendly to customers. I understand that you may be tired, but try not to put your ego into your customers.

Full of people on a Sunday lunchtime-ish... Great selection of fashion/shoe/sports shops. Fancy modern public toilets too. Food court had lots of seating avail.(which is handy).
But, the car parking is a mess - badly signposted and unless you know which end your intended shopping sites are - you end up walking through the throngs of people, for miles.

Large, modern style shopping centre with access to several modes of public transportation, being the Watergardens Railway Station and is also a hub for the local buses.

The shopping centre itself has a good variety of retailers, ranging from clothing, shoes and accessories to gaming and book stores.

There are also several restaurants and cafes, as well as a cinema.

Plenty of shops for different budgets. Fod court a wide variety. Incoratiin desk helpful ad who you caphoeaead to orgaisea mobiity scooter.
I ventured on my own scooter and en ounter barriers external to the mall
Sidewalk ends at Quest. To gdt to Centrelink or Marketplace jave to cross a budy road, twice for centrelink ad once for Marketplace. Leaving ad usig the ramp, was stuck til a customer came, unlocked and moved a trolly away. Baskets on the walkway heading towards undergroud parking near NAB.
My shopping as always a pleasure.
Going home at light nearest Bond Rd, exiting carpark on Kings Rd, I almost overturned my gofer there were mutiple aess points with slopes I didnot see.
Whilst not a Watergardens, it is a challenge to those with mobiity issues.

Today I had an extremely upsetting and confusing experience at Watergardens in Melbourne that I feel needs to be shared.

After taking my child to the movies, we stopped by the outdoor play area. As my son was about to go down the slide, I noticed there was a little girl already at the top, so I calmly told my son to wait his turn. A woman nearby then said to me, “That little girl isn’t going down because someone is at the bottom of the slide.” I replied, “Cool,” and continued texting on my phone.

Suddenly, this woman began escalating the situation and tried to start an argument. I said, “I don’t know you. I don’t know your kid. I wasn’t speaking to your kid. I was talking to my son.” She got in my face and said, “I’m not afraid of you.” At that point, she stood up and moved closer to me, so I stood up too. She then started shouting that I had hit her and claimed there were witnesses, which was completely untrue. Security came over and asked us to move along. She left and walked toward the ice cream section while I stayed near the play area.

Afterward, three Australian mothers came up to me and said they had seen everything. They told me it was clearly a misunderstanding and that the other woman had no reason to approach or confront me.

As we were speaking, a man who I believe was her husband came directly up to me and said, “I’m going to hit you in the face.” He then grabbed a chair and tried to use it as a weapon. Security had to take the chair away from him. I was shocked and sat down immediately, then called the police. I explained that this man had threatened me and asked security why he was still being allowed to remain in the area after such violent behavior.

While I was sitting down and my son was still playing, an older man, possibly a relative of theirs, began taking pictures of me. I asked him politely to stop. A woman then came from a different direction and started recording me on her phone. The same three Australian women stepped in again and told her to stop, saying clearly that I had done nothing wrong and that she should not be recording me.

Later, the police called me back and said they had spoken to the other parties. Since no one had been physically hurt, they said there wasn’t much they could do and that we should all just move on.

I was left feeling dismissed and completely gaslit. I cannot stop thinking about how different this situation would have been if the roles were reversed. If I, as a Black woman, had threatened an Indian woman with a chair or had been seen recording her in front of her child, I believe the response would have been very different and much more severe.

I did not raise my voice. I did not threaten anyone. I was simply parenting my child. What happened today was unfair, frightening and deeply disheartening. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially in front of their child.
As an African please be careful coming here because these people are too comfortable mistreating us & playing the victim’s on top of it
