We recently had our wedding at The George Ballroom. I often joke that I had a shortlist of venues already prepared by the time my now-husband (surprise) proposed, but this is the truth and The George Ballroom was number 1 on that list.

As soon as we stepped into the ballroom, we decided there and then that that was the space for our special day. Beautiful as they are and will be, pictures will not do it justice as you'd have to be there in person to really take in just how stunningly gorgeous the space is. The heritage space with its worn walls and high ceilings is a dream come true. A lot of our guests commented that it gave 'Bridgerton vibes'. It's beautiful enough that you wouldn't need to do much for additional styling and decor - the staff at The George Ballroom will have your back with this especially if you're planning your own wedding like I did!

The entire process of planning the wedding, from the start, to the final weeks leading up to the day, and the day itself was seamless. For this, we owe a great debt of gratitude to our venue event coordinator Samantha Trudgett, and also to Molly Barton who set things in motion for us at the start. Samantha was always readily available and responsive, professional, insightful and super organised. She took the initiative to make sure that things were running smoothly on the day and where needed, offered helpful suggestions using her wealth of wedding event experience and expertise. My maid of honour also commented on how helpful she was. Most importantly, Samantha made me feel reassured and at ease and kept my anxiety of planning things at bay in the period leading up to the day.

The food was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary menu tasting dinner. Selecting our courses for the event was challenging with so many good options! We had guests from all over the world and they all loved the food. We had quite a large percentage of dietary requirements in the group and all were met without any issues. The staff were all so lovely and warm.

We cannot recommend the lovely team at Damm Fine Foods and The George Ballroom enough! Thank you for making our dream a reality!

The George Ballroom was the perfect venue for our wedding! Full of heritage and charm, the space is truly one-of-a-kind. Molly, our event manager, was absolutely fantastic and ensured everything ran seamlessly. We had 100 guests, and instead of the usual layout with long tables and the dance floor at the end, we opted for round tables with the dance floor in the middle. It really showcased how versatile the space is, and we absolutely loved it! The cocktails were delicious, the food was exquisite, and the staff were attentive and professional. The team truly brought our vision to life, and we couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience. We highly recommend The George Ballroom for any special occasion!

From the moment we stepped foot into The George Ballroom, we knew it was the wedding venue for us. Simply stunning. But to go with the beautiful venue, is the delicious food, and great service of all the staff. Our event co-ordinator, Ashleigh, was fabulous, we felt completely at ease knowing everything was taken care of for us. Nothing was too much trouble. A truly memorable day for both my husband and I, and all of our guests. Highly recommend to anyone considering this venue for their event.

We recently hosted a wonderful wedding (ceremony + reception) at The George Ballroom. The space itself is stunning and our guests were full of praise for its heritage beauty and also the generous food servings on the night. Our event manager Victoria was incredibly supportive, responsive and efficient throughout the planning process, and the event staff were also very professional and helpful. We would definitely highly recommend The George for weddings and other celebrations alike.

We knew from the moment we saw the George Ballroom that it was where we wanted to get married and we did on December 21, 2020.
The venue was perfect, we did not need to add too many flowers or signage as the room is beautiful on its own. The venue looks stunning in every photo.
The staff were fantastic! Especially Victoria who was a god send. There was no problem too big or detail too small for her, and she made our day so stress free.
The food was also amazing. Every guest raved about the quality and quantity of the food and great service from the staff. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, I would highly recommend it!
Such a beautiful, historical venue so close to the city!!

Could not speak highly enough of this venue and the staff. My partner and I opted for an intimate wedding of 26 guests in this stunning space and we both agree that this was the best day of our lives. Victoria, the Event Manager at The George Ballroom helped us to make this day even more special than either of us had imagined it to be. From her initial emails right through to the follow up after the event, she had an incredible attention to detail, was organised, had great communication skills and was punctual in answering any questions we had - nothing was too much to ask and we believe she goes above and beyond the expectations of her role as an event manager. She was not only the event manager, but also the personal assistant, florist, stylist and psychologist, all whilst having the warmth, compassion and understanding of a friend. I felt like I knew Victoria from the first time I met her and I really believe that if it weren't for her and the passion, geninue care and dedication she shows, I wouldn't have been anywhere near as calm, relaxed and care-free as I was on the day and our wedding wouldn't have been as incredible as it was.

We had raving reviews about her from ALL of the guests at our wedding, who were blown away by her ability to be across EVERYTHING throughout the whole event, including knowing the names and relations of our guests and even their food allergies! I really could not speak highly enough of Victoria - she checked in with me regularly, supported me, offered solutions to problems and reassured me every step of the way when it came to planning our wedding and made our special day one we will never forgot. Thankyou so much to Victoria and the whole team at The George Ballroom, we are eternally grateful for all that you did to make our big day better than we ever could have dreamed of!
