Nice and quite place. Drop toilet is available though you might not want to use it 😁
I don't think you can swim but to each their own. The water is not clear, a bit brownish if you don't mind.

For New Year’s, I visited Bendigo and Shepparton, and with the weather being so hot, I wanted to find a place to cool off. That’s when I discovered this spot. Although it was a 50-minute drive from Bendigo, the images looked appealing, so I decided to check it out.

The drive wasn’t the easiest—the roads were rough, and there wasn’t much to see along the way. However, when I arrived, I found a lively atmosphere with people camping, barbecuing, reading books, and swimming. The river’s water flows down from the mountains, creating a soothing sound as it passes over the rocks. There’s a small pool-like area in the river, but the water isn’t clear, so it’s hard to gauge the depth.

Despite that, I had a fantastic time. If you visit, I highly recommend bringing a paddle board to make the most of the river.
Note: i met one of the locals. She was so friendly and lovely. I recommend people to have a visit here and have a communication with people who know the area

Little bit of a climb down and back out but suitable for all ages.
Nice small rock stream for kids boat races.
Be careful of the rocks in the water when swimming!
The quarry pond/lake has some flat rocks just under the water, so it looks like you are sitting on the water.
A few flat shady areas to picnic and sunbake.
There is a "drop toilet" up near the carpark, byo toilet paper.

From the road it can be confusing as to where to park. There is a steep and narrow driveway leading down to the waters edge but smaller cars will struggle to drive down. The rock formations and pools of water are lovely but be aware that there are leeches in the water. Sitting in the water over the rocks will guarantee you meet them.

A beautiful place to visit. It’s a sealed road to get here and the park area is gravel/dirt with easy parking. I saw a small toilet block. A must to visit and walk around on the large rocks around the water way. Strathbogie town is 10 minutes up the road.

What a lovely little spot. It's winter now, but a great place to spend the day in summer, swimming and boating.
Has toilets, and fire places and picnic tables that you can drive to and park next to.

Love this place water very chilly and cold but it's fun when you live so close to it. I've seen some fish inside although it's like a vibe of a dam... literally. Highly recommend
