I came here to stay & i was told that i could not stay here cause i asked a few questions.

I am only staying here cause it is an emergency; and i needed somewhere to go, so an organisation organised this accommodation for me & the person at the front desk was being weird.

So i had to leave & i guess I’ll go stay somewhere else 🤷

I just wanted somewhere to stay for a few nights & not worry about all; but that check in “speech” was a bit much, i don’t feel safe staying here so i left to find another hotel 😢

I arrived at City Park Hotel, 308 - 310 Kings Way, South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on Thursday 6th Feb 2025, where I was given the key to my room 101, spa room for $200 per night for 3 nights.|Upon room entry, the Air-conditioning was only blowing hot air, and after contacting front desk by mobile phone as the room phones do not work anymore. The front desk guy said there was nothing he could do, so I asked for another room which he offered the other spa room which they do not give out as its musty, spider webs everywhere, so I said this is not good enough. He said mate, i could have let the room 101 100 times over so don't complain. He brought to my room a desk fan and said that's all he has. The main TV didn't work, and the small bedroom TV was not working properly due to the antenna cable. The add says, restaurant, bar/lounge and Foxtel cable TV, and in-house movies, none of which they had. The room vents were covered in dark greasy substance, and the wardrobe bead up the wall had fallen off against the bed. |Overall experience is a minus 10 for customer being helped out by front staff.

Booked this place at a short notice based on its location.
Should have seen other reviews.
Rooms were average, carpets can do with a cleaning, safety lock broken, bugs and spiders in rooms and behind beds, unhelpful ‘relief manager’…!
Would not recommend…until they fix the issues and improve the standards.

Outdated but clean room. The bins were emptied and clean towels were left everyday. Reception should probably be opened earlier. Overall, no issues.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My 12 year old daughter was sworn at by the male manager for wanting to charge her electric scooter. The woman working there with him told me to piss off then he proceeded to tell me to F off. So unprofessional. Rooms dusty and unclean. My daughter sat on a chair in the room and a rusty nail went in her leg. There was no aerial for tv, wifi didn’t work. I asked for my money back, I had paid with cash and was abused and told I wasn’t a guest. I had paid 400 dollars cash. I had to call Police to make sure money was transferred after male manager told me I wouldn’t be getting my money back. AWFUL PLACE TO STAY AND CHILDREN NOT SAFE FROM BEING ABUSED BY MANAGEMENT

This place is really good value. Staff are friendly, check in and out are easy as. Rooms are clean, albeit a little dated and old. But sheets and towels are clean. Shower is hot. TV works (though I never asked how to get the foxtel working).
The car parking is free, and I saw a few spots still free at various times of the day.
Overall a really good stay and would definitely come back.

Great location, the rooms are a little shabby but comfortable and clean. The shower is amazing! A hotel that has everything you need that is close to The city and the manager was more than helpful

Contrary to other reviews we had no real dealbreaker problems during our stay. Unfortunately we were desperate for accommodation on probably the busiest weekend of the year as other accommodation cancelled late notice, and the price for our stay was double what it usually is per night here.. and after staying for a couple of nights im not super happy about how much i paid, but it was better than sleeping in the car.
Advertised as having a restaurant and bar open along with breakfast options and room service, none of that has been available for some time i think.
Room was quite large but weirdly empty. Tv didnt work properly, and things where falling apart and patched up roughly (light fixtures, cupboards, ceiling)
However it was overall clean and tidy
Useful if your desperate or not very fussy.
Good location with an amazing cafe just around the corner.
