I had the pleasure of staying in the Pomenal Estate cottages this week. They are beautiful. Well designed with amazing views of the Grampians. Watching the sunrise and the colours change as I ate breakfast was pretty special.
Checkin was easy, I was sent a text on the day of arrival with my lockbox code and location of the cottage. Everything worked.
The cottage had a large king bed, ensuite bathroom and fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area. I was even left a bottle of very nice riesling and some sourdough and spreads for breakfast.
My only recommendation, if travelling early in the week, take some dinners with you. A lot is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so you need to go prepared. Or stop at the Woolies in Ararat.

Incredible, welcoming winery! Stunning views from the back deck, amazingly delicious cheese board and crisp white wine. The cheese board was so yummy as well as accommodating. I am coeliac but my partner is not, they were kind enough to provide enough bread and crackers for us both! And the gluten free bread was soft and delicious, hard to find! The atmosphere was so nice as well, with kids playing cricket in the background and families playing board games. We had a beautiful afternoon here. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area! Treat yourself 🥰

Stayed there for three nights and everything was wonderful. We stayed in a two bedroom villa which was beautifully appointed. We enjoyed wine tasting and also had lunch there. The food was stunning both in appearance and taste.
All the staff we had dealings with super helpful and friendly.
We will definitely be going back!

We had a great lunch, and I really enjoyed the wine and chocolate flight. The standout for me was the prawns and dumplings. They were so delicious despite the dead bug in the masculine. I wish we got more serves of this as the kids stole my prawns. The pizza was not great, lacking flavour, and had a super heavy slab of cheese, which just slid right off the top. However, our littlest love was obsessed with his linguine. If I could have stayed longer, I would have tried the lemon meringue cheesecake and sticky date. We had a great day!

We went here for lunch and some wine/beer tasting. The Mac and cheese croquettes were unreal and the service is fantastic! Great value for money with the tasting platters too.

A wonderful winery / cellar door situated just outside of Halls Gap. I didn't stay in the accommodation but from what I saw it did look boutique/ high end.
I did, however, have a late lunch here and it didn't disappoint. My cheese platter was choc full of tasty cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers, dips and pickled goodies. Oh, and some delightful sourdough breads. Suffice to say, none of it hung around for too long 😋.
The staff on my visit were very friendly and made me feel welcome.
The impact on my wallet didn't hurt and I certainly felt I got value for money.
This estate is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The location is amazing, looking out at the bush recovery from the Feb 2024 fires. The food is so good. I didn't try the wine. Ciders are nice. Def worthy of a visit.
