A fantastic hike on well marked trails. It's pretty steep, but there are plenty of places to rest and the views kick in early and are spectacular. The second half (after the main ascent) is an open ridge walk and there is no shade, so I'd avoid really hit weather and take plenty of water. Parking is plentiful and trail access is right by the main road.

This is seriously the best hike I’ve ever been on so far. The views are amazing leading up to the top. We went during early summer when it was sunny and took around 3 hours to complete the hike. It is quite challenging as most of the reviews said but it is well worth it. So many different views in just one trail. The pictures just don’t do justice. I would definitely be open to doing this trail again. Highly recommended.

A nice hike anytime of the year. Its around 6.5 Kilometres return to the carpark. My hiking app rates it as a hard walk but I would suggest its more moderate. There are a lot of steps so you will need a level of fitness to tackle it.

The hike is just 7 km return with 450 ascent meters with lots of steps on a well maintained path. It's not an easy hike though, you need to be reasonably fit. Views from the summit are 360 degrees and quite spectacular.
Southwest of Mount Abrupt there is a small lake that's really nice and refreshing for a swim. The lake is accessible by driving about 3 km south ((towards Dunkeld) from the start of the hike and then turn right to The Piccaninny, drive past the town water reservoir, follow the unsealed road till the end, through the open gate. You can now see the dam, continue driving past the dam until the very end where there is a little sandy 'beach' for ease of access.

One of the best hikes in the Grampians! Starting from the main Grampians road, the views begin about halfway up so you don't even need to make the summit to be rewarded with some stunning landscapes. The views to the north are the best with Signal Peak dominating the skyline. Great as a sunrise hike. But gets very cold and windy at the top so be prepared.

One of the best hikes I've done.

Walk time if you have moderate fitness is 2.5 hours up and 2 hours back.

You will walk over 3 or more false peaks before getting to the peak of Mount Abrupt. It's the one with the geological survey marker at the top. Once you see that you know you are near.

You walk through bush area, forest area and a stone/rock area.

Make sure to stock up at Halls Gap or Dunkeld with water, snacks and loo break before commencing.

Plenty of views and photo opportunities. It was drizzling when I started the walk but by half way up it was clear and the drizzle helped cool me off so don't let the weather deter you from walking it.

Would recommend and definitely will do again.
There is no chairs or rest areas. Some parts are steep but have steps built in to help.

One of the better hikes I’ve done. Would 100% do it again.
As per other reviews, it is a challenging hike to the top but very much worth it with the panoramic views on offer. It takes about 60 mins each way (so 2 hours in total) if you’re reasonably fit, but you’ll need plenty of water and you’ll get a nice legs and glutes workout! However anyone can do it if you take your time.
There is a clear path to the top as well.

The parking for the start of the hike is on Grampians Road, just slightly north east of the summit as shown on google maps. You will see a sign for the parking anyway.
It’s windy at the top so make sure you bring a jacket to block out the wind and cold if you’re staying up there for a bit to enjoy the views and have some food / water.
