Nah, would hire from someone else for sure. Deliberate misleading tactics when I hired the car, was told I could secure a fuel rate of $1.68 ahead of time preventing me from having to fuel the car up myself before returning it. Turns out I wasn't told this was agreeing to pay for the entire tank despite me using less than half of it.

No care given from the hirer itself. When I booked online the booking advert said the car would have unlimited km's, when I picked it up I was told it was 200km daily limit (which is normal and I get but the reason I booked Thrifty was because of the offer of unlimited k's).

Took them over a month to respond to my initial dispute - which they declined - and then their story changed around the fuel charge twice.

Just annoying.

What a disgrace, I reserved a vehicle for 5:00 pm 31-10-2024 at Sebastopol Branch. I needed a wagon to collect passengers from Melbourne Airport later in the evening. I received a phone call from staff member 4:33 pm confirming my reservation and to ensure I was collecting reserved vehicle, I indicated I would definitely be collecting and be there around 4:55pm. The staff member commented that would be great as they close at 5:00 pm. I arrived at 5:02 pm and met the staff member about to leave the premises, and flatly refused to serve me knowing I was left without a vehicle. I called customer service about the issue and was told the same that "closing time is closing time". My first question is, why did you accept a reservation at 5:00 if that is closing time? 2nd question is , why was I not informed that if I was not there right on the dot of 5:00 I would not have access to the vehicle? My third and final question, what kind of customer service do you provide, when a customer is literally 2 min late?
Extremely poor service, I will never ever sign with you again and also tell every one about my horrendous experience with Thrifty Car rentals.
