Owner charged a cancellation fee stating i was late cancelling. After trying to get help from the booking site with no success, i then disputed the charge with my bank and received a refund.
I've found other reviews of this happening. Don't ever leave card details with this motel.
Owner is a straight out liar and has lied on multiple occasions. Including in his review response.

We stayed at this motel for a budget-friendly option. Staff seemed friendly and cleanliness was satisfactory. The decor was probably original. But I need to mention the walls (especially for families)- paper thin! We could hear everything our neighbors were doing, and judging by their antics they had a really good night but we needed to turn up the tv to try to sleep. They were probably on something stronger than coffee because night time behaviour was active throughout. We didn't get much sleep. On top of that, the pool was more of a colourful mystery. After a dip, our daughter’s knees and feet turned a strange shade of blue, likely thanks to the paint, which definitely wasn’t designed for pool use. While it’s a good choice for saving money, we’re not coming back next time. Just not worth it for the ‘experience’

Extremely disappointed. Bathroom basin tap was in need of repair. Ashley's restaurant was advertised as having won awards but the food was very ordinary.

Booked through a booking site, but unfortunately had to cancel. Email stated free cancellation before 1pm local time which i was 20 mins prior to deadline only to be charged a fee an hour later. When i rang the property i was told it was not before the deadline and when i pointed out the time difference was told to take it up with the booking site. The booking site has been unable to contact the property as yet, calls going unanswered.

Well equipped room. Great fridge with separate freezer, microwave, crockery, cutlery, glasses and mugs. Shower had good pressure and hot water came through quickly. Beds were comfortable with electric blankets and coverings to keep us warm. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Loved the room and had a reasonable bed heating and electric blanket. Untill I got in the shower, looked down the walls, and the floor is a combination of black and green with FILTH only 2 minutes at most of hot water. Photos really don't show how bad it was added temperature for a great morning for a cold shower.

This place was simply amongst the worst I have stayed in. The room was old and decrepit, poorly laid out and a real hotch potch. The shower randomly went hot and cold as other people in the block turned a tap on. Overall, a really disappointing stay. On a positive note, it was clean enough. Stay? Just don't do it
