We arrived a bit after lunch hoping to have a meal here for our anniversary. Despie the place being busy they were still helpful in finding us a seat and serving us relatively quickly. We had a lovely time, the food was awesome and so was the wine tasting selection at the cellar. We enjoyed the wines so much we bought a selection box to take with us going back to Melbourne. Can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Need to inform all your staff of plans for the kitchen...
Noted online open for lunch until 3pm, arrived 2:30pm, checked with staff if the kitchen was open for food (as not many patrons) told yes, and to take a seat anywhere.
2 minutes later, presumably the manager appeared, and informed us the kitchen was closed due to a function. Explained we were told kitchen was open.
No apology and not a care in the world regarding us or our two (hungry) young children.
Would have understood when we walked in if told the kitchen wasn't open, but to be told yes, have enough time to peruse the menu and tell the kids what they were about to have, and then be kicked out really isn't acceptable.

Turned up at 3pm and as it wasn’t busy we thought it would be good. The lady (think the winemakers wife?) sat us down and immediately felt like we were a burden. Not much conversation or answering questions and quite robotic.

Now, the young man who took over halfway was absolutely brilliant and the remaining wines were explained carefully and helped with the tasting. The sparkling Shiraz was excellent.

Four of us visited Saltram Wines on Saturday 5 April for a wine tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines and setting. However, it was George, the wine tasting facilitator, who "made our day". George is the epitome of an excellent hospitality employee. His knowledge, customer sensitivity, ability to personalise an experience and his natural inclination to do that little extra was very impressive. Thank you Saltram, thank you George.

The wines were okay, but the tasting board was the best value and most impressive plank of deliciousness I've ever come across. That's saying something, because I'm an old man, and have had enough of them to choke a dozen donkeys.

Saltram's grazing board had a huge slab of French D'Argental, which you never see. It also had a fantastically tasty chorizo and all of that for 50 dollarydoos. We couldn't believe it. Drop whatever you're doing (even if you're in labour) and go here immediately.

We had a great experience at Saltram. We tasted some great wines and purchased a few that we wanted to taste at home again. Lunch at Salters Kitchen was incredible, service was friendly and food was spot on. The pickles and goat’s cheese was to die for! We then had a quick enjoyable tour! A great visit if you are in the Barossa!

Absolutely divine lunch setting in the private cabana. Had a 3 course tasting menu with ample delicacies ranging from charcuterie board with pickles to braised beef and charred broccolini, finishing with Eton mess. Fantastic service and gorgeous private setting looking out onto the property. Couldn’t recommend this place higher for your winery lunch! Absolute 5* experience, will be back! Great recommendation from my colleague 🙂
