If i was living in Adelaide I'd only buy my bread there! you get ⅓ of the size of the bread there at coles and woolies for $7

Steak & Creamy Green Pepper $8.5
Home Grain Bakery has changed owners so went on down to see what all the fuss was about. Love a good pepper pie so got the Steak & Creamy Green Pepper. The pie looked big and it felt heavy. The pastry was nice and light, soft, not too flakey and wasn't dry at all. If anything, now I'm being picky it could have done with a little bit more on the underside, other than that pretty spot on. The inside woah, filled with nice tender chunks of steak, not too much mince. The meat to gravy ratio was pretty spot on too. The pepper flavours were there, but not peppery enough for me. I've had the same pie a long time ago and I swear it had more of a punch. Catering for the masses I think, some like it hot, others don't. Serving temp could have been a tad warmer and the lue held up, didn't fall apart. All in all, a pretty decent pie, value for money, totally worth the $8.50

Have visited here twice in the past 4 months on trips down south and both times have been a busy Saturday and Sunday morning, I have had the same custard Berlin’s each time and been very satisfied, fresh and nice filling of custard. Not as good as port Elliot bakery but closest thus far I have had. Also tried the sausage roll recently and was pretty good, and the spinach and cheese parcel also good. Only neg was they had no breaky pies or quiche at 10am on a Saturday but must have been flogged that day so I’ll have to try another time and hopefully snag some to try. Lovely service experience and pricing not too bad given ‘inflation’. I will be back.

Best pies of any bakery I've been to and every time we visit Aldinga we make sure to drop in. Our favourites are the pepper steak pie and tuna pie. Not the cheapest but the quality is excellent so you feel like you get what you've paid for. Staff are always lovely to.

Dreadful pies, really disappointed today. First steak and pepper pie had no steak and just a very hot peppercorn sauce which burnt my lips.. took it back for a second one which was basically the same. The pie collapsed half way through. Not a great experience.. Would not recommend this place..

Such a lovely place, it's a regular place for us. The fruit and custard Danishes are delicious 😋 the coffee isgood and the service is always friendly and welcoming.
