A suitable place for emerging restaurant owners, chefs, or for the serious home cooks!
I was amazed to walk around both the floors, checking out their collections and gathering knowledge. The staff are well equipped to answer questions and help you find what you're after.
It is very conviently located opposite corner of south Melbourne market. It's an interesting design which makes it easy to spot. 😃

My husband and I love shopping at Chef's Hat - their selection is by far the best we have found in Melbourne and the service is not pushy but there is always someone there to answer questions and help. We had a recent interaction with Glen and Claire where they went above and beyond. It was during the Christmas rush and we expected it to be mayhem. It was very busy, yet they still took the time to help and look for a product for us. The entire staff is cheerful and makes you feel welcome, even during the Christmas rush. The manager was lovely as well. We won't go anywhere else for our kitchen supplies.

First time visiting and was pleasantly surprised.
Large variety of items including bakeware, cookware, tableware and packaging
for the home cook and restaurants.
As always do your research on pricing.
There are some specials promoted but overall I felt pricing was on the high side but this is compensated by the extensive range.
Friendly staff was a plus.
Unfortunately, an item I was after which was showing in stock online was not on the shelf in store.
Staff were aware it had been out of stock for a while but had not updated their stock holding.

Thank you Peter for your expert advice today in helping us select our new frying / saute pan. Just cooked an excellent beef stroganoff, it cleaned up really well and I’m looking forward to trying many more of our favourite recipes! Peter listened to our queries, spent time giving us advice on various options plus a smattering of cooking advice which we really appreciated and all this brought us back to the store to purchase our new cookware.

Please fix your NEW PAYMENT METHOD (online). Online shopping should be just a click away, the new online payment method is just a nightmare.

It keeps prompting ‘’You need to add a card” but the button to add a new card doesn’t appear (as you can see from the pic here).
