Stayed Saturday 15th November. Room 7 was comfortable and clean. Spacious Bathroom recently renovated. Fresh Towels.Fridge with Milk. Kettle, tea, coffee and crockery. We were a bit worried as the motel as it had some good and some very poor reviews. The experience however was 1st class We stayed in the budget room for $149 for the two of us. Clean, new carpet, absolutely NO dust or cobwebs. Fresh fluffy towels a spa bath that worked and was clean and ready to use. Aircon and electric blankets. Extremely friendly and very helpful staff. I had left my phone charger behind and there was no problem to lend me one for the night. Also informed us that they were the new managers. So disregard earlier complaints.

Great little motel, a five minute walk into Central Castlemaine. The room was clean and the beds comfy. The bathroom appeared to have been recently tastefully renovated. Sharon on the front desk was friendly and helpful. We were given some excellent tips of where to have dinner (Railway Hotel: best to book) and the wonderful Das Kaffehauas for breakfast.

Great place, room is clean and up to date.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful, the tv wasn’t working on arrival but they got another one and had it replaced.
Will definitely be coming back soon.

Nice room. Hot tub. Big bed. Comfy chairs. Small kitchen. Huge ceilings. Historic building. Worth the extra dollars for the luxury suite.

We were pleasantly surprised with this accommodation. The reviews were a bit hit and miss, but our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfy. It was a cold night so we were grateful for the extra blanket. It had everything we needed and the staff were very helpful and friendly.|The position was excellent - easy walking distance to the station (we went on the train), cafes, restaurants and shops. We also walked to the Mill. Although on a main road, the traffic was not an issue for us as we had a room at the back of the motel.|The bathroom was a little cold (no heating) and could have done with better lighting.

There is clearly some upgrade work going on here in the bathrooms but that is where it stopped. The lady that "greeted" us was not warm. We had three rooms booked, three couples and charged all three rooms to my credit card with no permission to do so. When I questioned this all she said "that is how it is done" no offer to reverse it. In the room we had the carpets next to the bed were filthy with big stains evident. The bottom sheet on the bed in our room was ripped. All very very disapointing considering cost of $169. We only stated one night. Think carefully before stating here. The rest of the rooms doors were dented and chipped as was the very deteriorated woodwork around the windows. With a fair financial outlay and the right attitude this could and should be a great place to stay
