It was a Victorian era home now converted into museum. Even though the entry fees was 12$ yet the overall experience especially the picturesque views from the garden made it all worth. The volunteer working there is very kind and helpful. I still remember her kind gesture towards me. If you want to dive in some history while enjoying the views that castlemaine offers this is the place to be .

I took a group of 20 to Buda where we enjoyed a lovely 2 course lunch and a tour of the magnificent gardens and homestead.
What a brilliant experience we had learning from the volunteers about the historic meaning of the home and gardens. Definitely worth a visit!!

Beautiful 1860s home, with a glorious garden. I could see myself writing letters in the sitting room of the manor, and I could see myself maintaining the space in the servants quarters. A beautiful place to play the Handpan!

Five stars for the Buda Historic Home and Garden! What a wonderful experience. We particularly want to commend Christine, one of the volunteers. Her knowledge of the house and gardens was absolutely fantastic, and she was so accommodating and engaging. We really appreciated her passion and willingness to share information. She even stayed past closing time to allow us to complete our garden tour, patiently explaining the history and significance of the different plants and features. It made our visit truly special. Buda is a must-see in Castlemaine, and if you're lucky enough to meet Christine, you’re in for a treat!

Beautiful house, volunteer staff are very informative and helpful.
They were having a live drawing session on the gardens,the models dressed up in their best vintage outfits.
