Well for the money I paid I was very happy with the accommodation. Ok it was old but I got an apartment for the price of a bed in the dorm of a hostel. Everything worked (fridge, tv, sink microwave) carpet was new. Bed was comfortable (daughter slept in the bed) I slept on the futon and it was acceptable, not super comfortable but I managed to sleep fine. Only downside was when I stripped the beds the doona I had been using was sewn into the doona cover…. That was a bit gross considering I had been sleeping with it next to my bare skin. Location is fabulous! 10 min walk from the train and tram at the door, nice neighbourhood. I was really happy with my stay.

Room was clean and tidy. Good central location with a tram stop outside of building. Good secure parking. Majority of staff was pleasant except the lady who checked me in. She took a copy of my license without telling me. When I questioned her about it -politely she said quite rudely it’s policy if you don’t like it I cancel your room you go somewhere else

READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!! I wish I did! The hotel room looks NOTHING at all like the advertised photos… the room has a weird smell, mould or something all over the roof and for the price I paid for ONE night I would not expect it to be how it was. Not happy with this place at all, definitely do not recommend and 100% will be requesting a refund!

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor will I stay there again. I knew it was a 3 star hotel but I expected at least for it to be clean.

The two bedroom apartment we had was shabby and dirty and absolutely NOTHING like the advertised photos.
The floors were sticky and the room was infested with cockroaches! The smell of rotting garbage in the lift area was nauseating.

Housekeeping came halfway through our stay and changed the towels but when I asked for a face washer they stared blankly at me like I had asked for an extravagance. So no, they do not have facewashers nor hand towels. Just bath towels and a bathmat, painfully scratchy towels at that.

Smaller irritating things were the faulty TV and the horribly uncomfortable "couch/futon" that was made up as a third bed. Thankfully I had brought my own hair-dryer...because there wasn't one in the room. The shower head was too low on the wall of the shower so unless you are less than 5 feet tall you will not be able to stand under it. FYI, I am more than 5 feet tall, so it was an experience trying to wash my hair.

The one and only redeeming factor for this place was the Cafe on the ground floor of the main building, great coffee, fantastic staff and really lovely food.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I booked a two bedroom apartment for three adults and a baby, as the photos looked lovely - very spacious and welcoming. We arrived and the apartment was NOTHING like the photos. A tiny, narrow room, extremely outdated and dirty. We couldn’t even get the pram in the door.
After complaining to reception we were told that we would get our money back but we had to stay elsewhere. To spite multiple phone calls we are yet to see any of it. Absolutely ridiculous!! $390+ for the room, $100 for a bond and $25 for parking. That’s a total of $520+ that has basically been stolen from a young small family, trying to have a nice weekend in Melbourne. Disgusting in this economy! Arrow on Swanston should be ashamed!!

I had a very good experience at Arrow on Swanston! The rooms were really clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment throughout my stay. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority, and this attention to detail made my visit all the more enjoyable.

The staff deserve special mention—they were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Whether it was a quick question or a special request, their courteous and prompt assistance made me feel valued as a guest.

The combination of spotless rooms and excellent staff creates a memorable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne. I’ll definitely be returning for my next stay!

Booked several weeks in advance. Booked and paid for 2 room apartment with balcony views. Staying with a friend, so were really wanting the two rooms so we had a bed each.
What we received was a tiny room with a double bed. The 'balcony' looks over roofs and you can just fit two feet on it. Not their problem apparently, we can always find accommodation elsewhere....
Would not recommend at all, from customer service to actual accommodation.

The location here is really good with easy access to trams and the city. |There’s parking g available for $25 night and the rooms are relatively well set up with a toaster and kettle. |Parts of the rooms are a little run down but it was ok. |The bed was pretty average.
