While Bluecross was its own entity, there was almost no use being a casual staff member as their app hardly ever had any shifts available, now that it has switched to Opal care and everyone is resigning, they are now sending out between 5-10 spam texts per day to all staff members, even those who have resigned despite requests to be taken off their spam text list. Would not recommend this facility as a place of work. Annoying and unprofessional.

I can’t express enough how wonderful this facility is. From my first conversations with Shannon and Kate for easy transition, to the carers, doctors and nurses.
Nothing is too much trouble for any of them and the care for my Father has been amazing. The communication is second to none.I have had experience with other care facilities and this one is hands down the best.
Thank you Blue Cross Box Hill

My mother was exceptionally cared for during her 2 week respite stay following a period of rehab after a fall at home. The rooms are modern and spacious and have a homely feel. There are plenty of activities for residents to engage in if they wish. I found staff very pleasant to communicate with and appreciated their regular updates. The manager has been very accommodating and we have booked Mum in for another 2 week stay later in the year.
Most importantly my mother looked much better and healthier on leaving than when she first entered. Well done and thankyou Bluecross Box Hill.

I would like to highly commend the staff at Blue Cross Box Hill for the outstanding service that they provide from the preadmission phase through to the actual admission, as well the daily care that my love one receives.
The standard of nursing care is of a excellent quality and this is always performed in a warm, friendly and caring manner.
The amenities, food and services provided are excellent.
I highly recommend BlueCross to all those whom ask me about aged care. Cheers Kathy

My wife has just completed 2 weeks respite (dementia) at Box Hill.
She was unsettled and apprehensive at first, but by the time she was due to come home she was disappointed that she had to leave. Excellent care by considerate staff, quality meals and many regular activities to keep residents occupied - I cannot recommend Blue Cross Box Hill highly enough!

My Dad has been in facility since 2019, wonderful caring thoughtful staff. An industry under enormous scrutiny, but deserved, yet BlueCross Box Hill is delivering!

Box Hill Blue Cross is in an especially good location for mums family to visit. A welcoming entrance, a good sized comfortable bedroom surrounded by plenty of lounge areas and lovely courtyards. The staff are very friendly, caring and welcoming not only to residents but to families. Regular emails/newsletters keep us updated. Activities that are provided are very beneficial for the residents wellbeing. The dining room and activity areas are a great place for our elderly to gather as a group for meals and especially for company. In general a very good environment.

The building is nice. The care is poor. When asked, everything is possible, but never happens. Calls for help are seldom answered or come after a long time. There is a gym, but to use it, you have to book for a physio for supervision, the physio is usually too busy bringing nonmobile residents to exercise classes. Cannot get straight and honest answers from staff when asked about resident’s condition if that person has dementia. Occupational therapist comes once a week, did not get meaningful help from her. Toasts are cold and at times burnt. What is ordered on the menu may not be what you get. Too bad if you need a special diet, there is a dietitian in house, but they don’t cater for special needs. Medication errors occurred often. Laundry are not treated hygienically, articles of clothing are left on the floor in the laundry; despite having labels on the clothes, they get misplaced. The place is not designed for people who has memory issues, there are no signs to the courtyard garden. Resodents wander around, sometimes into other residents’ rooms. all in all, not happy with the care. My friend said she was disappointed the day she moved in. I would like to give NO star if I can.
