We hired a van on Sunday 9th Feb 2025 from 8am.

Van location did not match the instruction photo but was easy to find with the instructions inside the mall’s carpark. We were stuck at the boom gate to get out of the carpark. No one came when we press the button for assistance at the gate. It took us 15 minutes as we needed to google the Box Hill Central management phone number to call them then wait for someone to let us out. Tip for future hirers: the carpark services opens from 9am on Sundays.

The van’s condition was not great. Van was easy to drive but as soon as the doors open it stank like nicotine. Clearly someone was smoking inside the van before our hire. Had to leave the windows fully open when driving. The van is also overdue for a service as you can see in the photos (the van odometer was 46872km at the start of our hire). Front left corner of the van was loose, although it was manageable and no issue.

Petrol was empty upon commencement of hire. The van uses diesel. I paid $125.88 to fill up a full tank. I had lost the receipt on the day then was able to get another copy a week and a half later. Emailed gecko back with the copy as instructed. Did not get reimbursed or any follow up after that.

Positive notes was the customer service team. They were quick to answer and very helpful, especially when we were running late to return the van.

I could not recommend against this company enough. Poor email correspondence initially followed by tardy responses which are required to pickup a vehicle. Many infuriating steps involved in even picking up the vehicle, which they don't tell you the location of, or when you find the location inside a private parking area, they also don't tell you how to get out. None of the standard pieces of information are given to you on the commencement of the hiring of the vehicle, and then you have to sit through 15 minutes per phone call of holding just to get a simple piece of information that should have been written into an email that should've been sent before you even touched the vehicle.
This company adds stress to an already stressful time of moving and I cannot possibly think less of a company designed to aid in that process.

The van was hard to locate and it wasn't in the same spot as that the app was showing, and exiting the car park was unclear, has to call for help. But overall it was really easy to figure out and the van was great

Vehicle is well maintain and clean. Staff is friendly, service is quite good, and price is pretty reasonable. Didn’t had to wait long when calling in for assistance. Overall a good vehicle hire experience.
