We stayed at the interconnecting deluxe rooms with balcony. Very spacious rooms for the family, clean and well kept. Rooms are equipped with kitchenette & stove for convenience. Roof top pool is good size and easily accessible.

Things for improvement - TV not able to connect to streaming services and rather slow house-keeping response.

Overall great 'value for money' hotel to stay in for the family. We will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.

This is our second time staying here, and my husband and I absolutely love it. The balcony offers an open view, and the room design and facilities are stylish and well-appointed. The toiletries are of high quality with a scent we really enjoy. The service is excellent, and both the gym and swimming pool are great. It would be even better if there were a hot water pool and a sauna. Looking forward to our next visit!

I stay here most weeks for a couple of nights for work travel. It’s a great place, the staff are friendly and helpful. However, this time I really had to point out how noisy the air conditioning has become! My room was unbearable, even when I turned the air conditioning off. Other motors continued to rattle on. After a bit of resistance, I was given another room. But the problem was there too. Time to look at some ventilation maintenance please! But I’ll be back.

Went to Melbourne for a sad occasion, but the team at The Chen made it so much better. Easy and fast check-in, lots of advice for places to eat, places to park very well mapped and signed.
The Room i had was amazing, we had the dual key room. clean, plenty of storage, comfortable bed.
Bathrooms perfectly maintained and stocked with everything i need.
Pool was a wonderful addition, the roof top viewing area was magical at night.
Would stay there again if i go back again

Adored my stay, hotel is beautiful and staff were welcoming and helpful.

Roof top pool is lovely, large enough to fit multiple families as well as singles with room. Parking is limited but staff are wonderful, giving directions to take any parking anxiety away. Room was absolutely beautiful, I never wanted to leave.

I've stayed three times at The Chen and found it good each time. The 109 to the city is right on the doorstep, with a huge mall and the train station only five minutes away on foot. Cafes nearby are awesome. Each room I've been in had good floor space, a comfy bed and a functional kitchenette. My only complaint is that two of the three rooms didn't have an opening window (the other had a balcony and large door to open). Whilst cooking in a tight space, this becomes a bit of an issue - I accidentally set off a smoke alarm while frying bacon and eggs, and staff rushed to bang down my door. Any sort of functional fan or a cracked window could prevent this.

That aside, I've had no other problems. No complaints about cleanliness, it's always fine. But yes, as others have said, the situation with parking is atrocious. Overall, I do recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Our stay at The Chen was nothing short of a nightmare. We arrived late at night after a long drive, only to find that there was no parking available in front of the hotel. We called the front desk multiple times for parking information, but no one answered. We had to park our car at a distant parking lot and drag our luggage a long way to the hotel.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a front desk staff member dressed in a sports T-shirt and shorts, carrying a gym bag. His attitude was extremely cold and it felt like we were interrupting his plans to leave. I inquired about the benefits as an Accor member, such as the welcome drink and snack mentioned on the front desk information board. He assured us that these were already prepared in our room.

However, when we got to our room, there was no welcome drink, not even water. There were also no slippers or toothbrushes. I tried calling the front desk multiple times from both the room phone and my mobile phone, but no one answered. In the end, I had to walk to the shower wearing my leather shoes.

This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I would not recommend The Chen to anyone.

I got this room as a kind farewell gift from a friend of mine. My mate notified them that I'll be checking in late as I had my plan finishing at around 10pm, which wasn't an issue for this hotel as they have 24/7 reception.

When I arrived with my mate, the receptionist, who called himself a 'manager' didn't even bother to say hi, and rather treated me rudely. I was asked to pay $100 for a bond, and that was apparently not informed to myself and even to my friend who made a reservation for me. The MANAGER said 'that should've been written in Booking.com' but my friend couldn't find that clause anywhere, and it was not a nice tone when he asked for me credit card. I didn't want to argue with him as it was a gift.

Then, my friend came with me so we could have a chat before she goes back home, but the MANAGER said something like 'this room was only booked for 2 people, why are you girls three?'. That was really awful service, I have to say. I enjoyed the room I stayed in as it was only for a night and what I needed was a shower, and a bed, but I am giving two stars due to the attitude of that MANAGER. Good luck.
