Amazing service. Be sure that you tell the triage nurse everything that is going on with you. The nurses are thorough, double-check everything and react to everything as necessary. The facility is amazing and I was sad to leave it because it is so beautiful (I was transferred to the Lyell Mac). If you are in dire straits, they react quickly and make sure they cover all bases.
If I ever need an ED again, this is where I'll head.

I find it difficult to comprehend the bad reviews. I found it necessary to attend the Emergency Department on a Public Holiday whilst suffering mysterious upper chest pains. Having a history of heart ailments I was seen to very promptly. I spent over 8 hours in the care of the Emergency Dept whilst numerous scans, blood tests, XRays etc were performed. They left no stone unturned. The Doctor ascertained the cause, which was heart related, and prescribed medication. The staff from initial contact at front desk through to nurses, Pathology, Radiology and the Doctor were very caring and totally professional. We are so lucky to have this facility.

My GP told me to go here as got the results came back that I had a fracture on my foot. The ED was clean and all the staff were wonderful, I was in and out within an hour. Great experience 👍.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Gawler Health Service Emergency Department today. My father had a serious eye injury while cutting a watermelon—he accidentally hurt his eye with a knife, which caused bleeding and severe pain. Given the nature of the injury, I immediately took him to the emergency department, expecting urgent medical attention.

However, despite informing the staff that it was an emergency, we have been waiting for over four hours while other patients who arrived after us have been seen and discharged. Watching my father suffer in pain while being ignored is incredibly frustrating and disheartening.

The lack of urgency and care in handling a clear emergency case is unacceptable. If an eye injury with visible bleeding is not considered urgent, I truly wonder what is. The long waiting time, poor prioritization, and overall experience have been extremely disappointing. I hope the hospital improves its triage system to ensure that patients in genuine pain and distress receive the attention they deserve.

Never ever go to the emergency department here the nurse who looked after me Is fine and was pushing for a Dr to see me but I was very angry because I have been having issues with urinary retention and just recently a possible bowel obstruction and the useless doctor said you don't have a lot of urine in bladder but that was when I first went in so done another scan had 1 litre of urine and asked do you want a catheter I said not really then he done a rectal examination nothing up there and gave me something for my lower back told me to see my gp and organise a ct scan. They then sent me home with a full bladder. Absolutely a joke of a place.

I did have to wait a while but I cant fault the staff in any way, from triage to the doctors. The new emergency department doesn't feel like a hospital more like a hotel. The worst part of my stay was the paper cup and wooden spoon for the ice chips. All tastes like sawdust. Even the stretchy straps used on your arms to do a blood test are disposable. This is costing the taxpayer millions. I appreciate the fact everyone is looking after the planet but surely a little common sense wouldn't go astray.

Worst experience! The nurses at the front were lovely but we waitedbtoo long. They kept seeing other people who came after us and just left us waiting for 2 hours , more people came ..they called them left us waiting with a sick 1 yr old. We really felt discriminated and will NEVER be going back ...even if I am dying.

Been in the hospital since Friday, had a great experience , they were very good and explores everything till they found out what was wrong with me , the doctors and nurse were brilliant there caring attitude was amazing and could say enough about there caring , would goo back no worries at all
