Recently had the opportunity to visit Arkaroola Wildlife Sanctuary. Had been a bucket list experience that didn’t disappoint. We traveled with Doug on the Ridge Top Tour, and learned about the geological history, plants and animals of the region through Doug’s engaging stories and vivid descriptions. We spent the evening swimming in the pool, before an incredible dinner. The staff and the chef, were beyond extraordinary. We enjoyed seeing the rare yellow footed rock wallabies at dusk, then learning about the night sky and galaxy during the astronomy session. I could not recommend this experience more, it will be with me forever. Thankyou for sharing your time with us.

We took our caravan and used a powered site. Amenities were clean. The ridge top tour is a must, not only beautiful but very informative. Also recommend the astronomy tours and feeding the yellow footed wallabies. All staff were polite and helpful, a great place to go

Arkaroola is one of my favourite places!! So much to see and do! The staff are fabulous and the restaurant serves really good food, at really decent prices, considering the location!! The rooms are really nicely done, everything you could need is provided or available, and having a pool out there is a luxury I wasn't expecting! Not my first stay there, and I'll definitely be back!!

We camped for a few nights in the unpowered sites, wasn't long enough. We ate at the wool shed, great experience most do in my opinion. We swam in the pool, the walk up the hill behind also good. BBQ from the shop freezer also a highlight

If you want peace and quiet, great scenery, good off road tracks, nice accommodation, great food at decent prices, fantastic staff (special mention to Keiron). Arkaroola is the place to be. We had 4 nights there in early January 25. Weather was spot on, the nights were cloudless, perfect for star gazing. Absolutely great place to unwind and forget about life. So just like Molly says "do yourself a favour", get up there. We'll be going back. Thank you Doug and Vicki.

Amazing darkness village! The road is in very good conditions but it’s mandatory to check the weather conditions because if it’s raining you will need a 4WD car! If you are traveling from Adelaide I suggest to start driving early morning because you need to drive carefully through all the road there are a lot of wildlife.

We spent 4 nights at Arkaroola and had a wonderful time exploring the sanctuary in our 4WD. We also went on the Ridgetop Tour which is a must for any visitor. The walks and drives were very enjoyable - lots of points of interest. The accommodation was not great quality. We rented Euro cottage. It’s very tired, showing its age. There was no aircon in the main bedroom despite there being aircon in the second bedroom. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. A few items were missing but the staff seemed to think that was standard, despite the fact that the same items were in our friends’ cottage which was booked at a lower price. Some windows had no window coverings, impacting on privacy. The bathroom is very small with an old fashioned shower curtain arrangement. It’s an adventure to come to Arkaroola but similar locations in Australia have better standard of accommodation. The BBQ night at the restaurant was enjoyable. The swimming pool was OK.

Absolutely fell in love with arkaroola. The natural beauty of this place is simply stunning. Stayed in the euro cottage which was spacious and has a balcony with gorgeous views. However, they employ mainly backpackers here and the place isn't well cleaned, used sanitary pads in one of the rooms, filthy sink and shower curtains, not vacuuming under tables, beds and lounge with inches of dust. Had to evict 4 frogs as well.
There are also some nasty stains on the lounges. The bar staff are really friendly and the bar prices are fair given the remote location. I feel as though the food could have been much better for the price, especially the beef steak. With all this said, it wouldn't deter me from returning as arkaroola is a beautiful part of our country.
