Worth taking the time to travel to this beautiful station, along with the warm welcome despite us arriving unannounced. We stayed at a beautiful bush camp. It's so lovely to witness such a passion for preserving history and retaining the beautiful buildings at the homestead. Our only disappointment was not having the opportunity to take part in the guided historical tour or witness Luke's blacksmithing demonstration as it was unavailable on the days we visited due to shearing. Lukes talent is evident in fixtures in the bathroom.

One of the highlights of our Flinders Ranges travels was our bush camp for 4 days at Holowiliena Station. The camp was very peaceful with lots of birdlife and huge redgums. Firepit and firewood was even supplied. Frances and Luke were wonderful, warm and friendly hosts. Frances took us on a very interesting history journey of 5 generations of her family's farming there. Luke's blacksmithing demonstration was very impressive. He made a fire poker, and he also makes other useful items. As we were leaving, we were lucky to see, in the yards, the wool on the young ewes being assessed for quality.
Highly recommend a visit to Holowiliena Station.

An amazing station with varied rolling terrain. We were lucky enough to drive their 4wd tracks weaving across their station.
Fran and Luke were very accomodating.
A group of us stayed in the shearers quarters for 3 nights...clean, tidy and rustic.

The place is full of history and worth exploring.

Camped for 4 nights down by dry river bed. The serenity was divine. Camp sites even come stocked with fire wood. Took part in the history tour which included smoko and afternoon tea. Thanks Frances & Luke for a wonderful stay.

We camped for four nights at Holowiliena Station, so cannot provide a rating for rooms. Camping location was awesome, beside dry river bed and amongst large river gum trees, it was isolated away from anyone else - very peaceful.
The service provided by our hosts was amazing - first class. All facilities used were great and the tours we undertook were great, the history of Holowiliena is outstanding.
We will return again someday for sure

thoroughly enjoyed our stay at holowiliena station. we were lucky to experience the views of the countryside and the station buildings. lovely helpful hosts and the road from Cradock was good. I will be back

We just enjoyed an amazing 4 nights at Holowiliena. Our campsite was very quiet and private and came with a good supply of firewood and a sky filled with stars every night. We loved the history tour (including a delicious morning tea) and were in awe of the stories Luke and Frances shared of both the 170 years history of the station and their own journey. We feel privileged to have met both Luke and Frances and also their inspiring daughter Stella who also shared her experiences of growing up in a remote area.
