Popped in to the Bistro for lunch and enjoyed everything about the experience. The staff were happy and helpful, the atmosphere, ambience and seating were welcoming and comfortable and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again.

My brother and I make semi regular visits to the Gawler Arms on a Sunday. We have been doing this for the past few years. The meals have been excellent and staff service has been great. In particular we've always enjoyed interacting with Tanya who has made our visits that bit more special, simply by how she interacts with us. Always cheerful and a part of offering the great service the hotel provides.

A big thank you to your staff and in particular to Tanya.

Wouldn't recommend this place at all, one staff member had an attitude the minute she opened the doors, we had been at our table hadn't moved anywhere or even ordered yet SAME staff member was circling my daughter's nappy bag making us feel like thieves, then we were abused by the SAME staff member for not ordering the baby (who is 1 & 1/2 y/o) a meal because she wasn't hungry, she was just going to have a few chips off her mum's plate IF she became hungry (her mum who keep in mind has had gastric sleeve surgery and can no longer eat half a meal let alone a full meal) this staff members behavior was absolutely disgusting, this was our first time there, they kicked us out because my daughter stood up to the lady and defended her baby we will never go back even if we were allowed. Absolutely horrifying how the staff are allowed to speak to customers, my daughter tried to sort this out privately but they don't seem to want to have consequences for the staff members actions..

Absolutely perfect!
The location is perfect, right in the middle of town!
My bed was super comfortable
Great sized TV
Good speed wifi
Really nice, clean and modern bathroom
And good food downstairs
I honestly have nothing bad to say about this hotel

Very good ..actually better than good. Have buffet and Chinese with traditional Australian food. Little bit pricy. Over all if your hungry and love your tucker ..great choice.

Horrible customer service by 1 lady who I ask for our drinks and then she went and served the person behind us
Then my mate went to order and she walked off thank god they have 1 decent lady there that served us
Waited nearly 1 hour for our food chicken burger is absolutely horrible
At least the salad was nice

If you are concerned your $38 Fillet steak may be tough after the first bite let staff know. If you proceed to try another side of the steak and it's still tough and you complain you will be treated like scum by staff/manager. Finally gave meal money back minus salad bar.

Food was salty and low quality. The leaf salad on my plate and in the salad bar was old and rotten. Looked a week old. inedible! The vegetables in the salad bar looked good. My steak was chewy and very salty. My wife ordered the lasagne, and the bottom was black, burned, and bitter. Also inedible! My steak was $37.50 for 250 gm, which is definitely overpriced. It was thin and dry.. What happened to thick, juicy, proper steaks? They have all been replaced with this larger wafer thin crap because they're quicker to cook. They are horrible! Other pubs in the area have also adopted this method. The cooks need to use less salt when seasoning as well. Won't be back. I have only been twice in 5 years and am not impressed. I will leave this pub for the aged fraternity who dine there
