Machattie Park is a delight of trees, flowers, bird life, bees, water fountains, a pond with koi. While it definitely got that 1890s vibe vis-a-vis design, content and experience - that's its strength. And more power to Bathurst for keeping it as vintage as possible - while of course each generation has added to it via addition of trees in the 1940s and modern plumbing I'm sure! Some trees have plaques which is great, I wish all of them did, kinda like a tree zoo. I am not a local so I don't come here that often (I'm here for the 1000 most Octobers) but when here I do like walking through it even if its just getting from one part of town to the other.

Beautiful garden with various flowers collection. Very quiet when we visited which is good as then we get more chance to enjoy the garden for ourselves.

A lovely little park modelled on the city parks of Victorian Britain. There is a lovely fernery and, in season, fabulous blooms in the begonia house plus a fanciful fountain, picnic tables and a bandstand. The Christmas Carol Party is a summer treat with music and Santa and lots of fun.

Disappointed most of the park is closed off for some reason. Can’t see any reason why. Managed to see the ducks and the koi in the pond through the fence. And a possum was awake through the day eating a piece of apple someone had given him.

Lovely park for picnics and the ever changing trees and flowering shrubs and plants are very pretty. View the ducks and turtles in the Spencer fountain. Follow the paths that weave around through the park.
In the park you will find a lovely little enclosed fernery with a cute little path to walk around and the Begonia House with a stunning display of beautiful colourful Begonias.

Parts of the park was closed. It has beautiful autumn colors but couldn't get in. Parking was good. Didn't have any issues to get a parking and also no time restrictions.
