Super impressed by the yum cha here! I think it's better than most yum cha places in Sydney. The quality is comparable to top yum cha restaurants in Hong Kong. We visited the Central Coast for 3 days and visited for yum cha twice!

We chatted to a staff member on the second visit (she recognised us) and she shared that the chefs have over 40 years of experience! The dishes were skillfully executed, well seasoned, freshly made and great portion size.

My number one was the scallop and prawn siu mai, the scallops added more umami and seafood freshness to the siu mai. 😋

The bbq pork po low bao was a close second, the top was crispy and bun was soft and piping hot! 😋

Beef cheung fun was fantastic as well, the crunch of the water chestnut added textural complexity to dish (sometimes missing from other yum cha places).

The staff were friendly and attentive. 😊 The tea served and cutlery and ceramics used were better quality than other places. I recommend Ming Dragon if you're travelling to the Central Coast! 👍🏻

Not what you would expect at the price. Warm to cold in the middle fried dim sims, poor tasting salt and pepper king prawns and so much batter, I couldn't eat it. Sent the prawns back as they had zero flavour. No salt or spice.
I had to remove the thick heavy batter as it was way too much. Photos show what's left after eating the prawns. Very disappointing!

I used to live at The Entrance and came here all the time. Drove from Newcastle and was really looking forward to the food, however to say I am disappointed is an understatement. The food was visibly dry, however the staff served it anyway. Couldn’t eat it as it was dry and chewy, told a staff member and they said what would we like to do and gave us the option of replacement or refund, by then we just wanted to go elsewhere, so we said refund. Staff member walks off and returns and then says sorry we can’t give a refund, despite offering that as an option in the first instance. Asked to speak with the manager about it and then it was taken off the order, however the honey chicken although we ate most of it, was also very dry, however we were that hungry was still charged. I spent an hour this morning vomiting the food up and feel unwell. Avoid at all cost.

Surprisingly good! The noodles had wok-hay and the dimmies were different but really good. Chicken feet were also on point.

From the moment you arrive the attentive staff make sure you’re in for a culinary and pleasant experience. The offers of Yum Cha were quick to be forthcoming and we indulged ourselves in many delights being offered by the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Ordering special items? Five minutes they were on our table. A bowl of plain rice for the little fussy eaters at the table? No problem. Containers for all the leftovers to take home because our eyes were bigger than our belly? Of course.

Every mouthful was a delight but favourites were definitely the mango pancakes!

We’ll be back again for sure!!

Having lived and travelled in Asia, we have sought only authentic Chinese cuisine, the food in the Ming Dragon is authentic and can not be faulted. The Chef, Sam and his team prepare meals that will satisfy the most discerning of palates from the large range of meticulously prepared and presented Yam Cha selection to the full range menu. Everything is tasty and superbly cooked and presented. My husband and I have been a customer for the past eight years enjoying both lunch time as well as the dinner service, we have not been disappointed once throughout all our visits. Their Mongolian lamb should be their signature dish, it is amazing. The service and friendliness of all the staff create a wonderful a most welcoming and hospitable atmosphere resulting in overall superb dining experience. We would highly recommend this restaurant be it for two or large group celebrations.

I have been to this restaurant several times in the past and was always impressed with the service. However, my recent experience on Monday for yum cha was extremely disappointing.

The service was poor, and the overall atmosphere was awkward. The trolleys, which are supposed to come around to show diners the available dishes, were incredibly slow. They rarely made their way to our table despite the restaurant being relatively quiet. In over an hour, we were only approached a couple of times, which significantly limited what we could order.

When we asked about specific items, such as soup dumplings, we were told they would be made for us, but they never arrived. This lack of follow-through was very frustrating and ultimately led us to leave earlier than we had planned.

The staff, particularly the girl who was supposedly “looking after” our table, was unhelpful and wouldn’t show us the dishes (had to be asked multiple times) and eventually someone else working had to take over. This added to the disappointing experience, as we would have ordered more if the service had been better.

To make matters worse, the variety of dishes was not what it used to be, and the food felt overpriced for the poor experience we received.

Unfortunately, this visit has left me reconsidering whether I will return. What used to be a reliable spot for yum cha has lost its charm.
