I have been to Trappers severally over the years, each time trying something new. Their steak is really good, so is the salmon and sea food medley. They offer a modern Australian cuisine. The staff are friendly and professional. The chef often comes to say hello. Would recommend. There is a choice of 2 courses or 3 courses.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was very attentive. They even gave us complimentary appetizers. The bone-in ribeye steak was especially delicious!

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very nice, everything is well spaced out and looks amazing. The outdoor area has heaters above the tables making sure you are always conformable.

The staff were flat out but the service was great, everybody was polite and gave us everything we needed.

The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Servings were more than generous and was more than we could eat in one sitting.

The truffled mashed potato was easily one of the best things I've ever tried.

The only let down was the lack of parking as it's combined with the hotel but don't let that stop you enjoying the incredible food here

had an important birthday celebration here and it was fantastic...10 of us and everything was great!
Good range of dishes and wines to choose from and everyone said their meal was very good.
Service was excellent with enough attention without being invasive.
Prices were very reasonable for this quality in this day and age.
Menu was "a la carte" so you can eat there cheaply
for really nice food.
Overheard a number of other diners commenting on how good their meal was.
Definitely a "go to" restaurant in the region...will be going again

First would like to say thank you for a amazing tasty dinner, me and my wife enjoyed it.

Walking in we was greeted by nice kind waitress made me feel so welcome. Being far from home we was treated with nice respect.

For entree,
I had the octopus - Very nice cooked well it’s not easy to perfect octopus and can be easily over cooked in this case it was cooked perfectly melted in mouth fresh taste the candy walnuts was nice with the basil the pickled red onion every Element put together on a fork is just mouth watering and very tasty.

The wife had calamari rings-
Her comments “very nice” i had a try I can say cooked as well to perfection taste fresh simple but executed well.

Main

Come on they had the 550g rib eye a bloke like me can’t turn this steak down. I ordered it and it came looking like someone has delivered a golden nugget on my plate. Asked for medium have gotten medium with perfection.

Now for the taste listen to me very carefully I’m known to reviewing steaks from the highest places in Sydney I’m going to drop it here and say hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had this is inline with I’m Angus Sydney darling harbour. And that place is only known for steaks.

It tasted soft juicy had flavour you know a good steak thru the taste of flavour. Most places forget a big cut like this needs to be taken care of in terms of perfect seasoning. Tappers smashed it the sides mash potatoes and a nice sauce that just brings it straight to the heart with flavour. Honestly chef pat on the back well done.

The wife - Ordered lamb back strap , of course I had to try it very nice soft lamb cooked medium with a tasty crumb on the outside mixed with the yogurt sauce and beetroot relish well presented and tasty all together.

Deserts -

I had the crumble quince very nice sweet tasty perfect not much to say I’m more of a main and entree person. But if you are a sweet lover this will be nice for you.

Wife had - banoffee stack lite sweet not to sweet I liked it more then the quince cause I’m not a sweet palette person very nice.

Overall 5 star hands down read most if not all the reviews and I can say I don’t give 5 stars often but Trappers steak & seafood have gotten it I enjoyed the dinner everyone was well respected.
Reasonable prices.

I was really looking forward to trying Trappers restaurant as I had heard good reviews. The staff were amazing and attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant and classy. Unfortunately my main was burnt and really dried out/dehydrated pork that tasted like it had been reheated, the salad was not fresh and seemed old. I tried to eat it but had to leave it. When letting the waitress know it was inedible she agreed and said “a lot of people have also said the same thing about that dish”. I expected an offer to replace the meal or swap it for something else but she took the plate away with out saying anything. I found that really disappointing, as I gave them the opportunity to rectify the meal, and would have liked to have a main meal. The waitress did offer to get dessert but we were charged for that anyway. We paid over $300 for the night and I didn’t get any compensation or even a drink or something for the mess up.
My friends meals looked great and they said theirs were tasty. Hopefully this dish gets removed off the menu or fixed if others have given similar feedback.

I'll start by saying this is a bit of a mixed review. As a group of six we went here for my husband's birthday. We chose it because we had some steak fans in the group and because my husband loves a good seafood platter. They have 3 steaks on the menu - rib eye on the bone, a t-bone and an eye fillet. Of the six we had 3 that wanted the rib eye. We were ordering at 6.45pm on a Saturday night and the waitress let's us know they had only had one rib eye and it was already gone. The restaurant was pretty busy so I suspect there were probably quite a few disappointed patrons. We found it a bit of a let down given they bill themselves as a steak restaurant. We had a similar challenge with beer. Hubby is a darker drinker. He and his friend ordered a white rabbit dark. When they went to order a second drink they were told they'd only had two of the beers but could have an amber ale... 🤔 They did fix the problem though by sending a staff member down to Jim Murphys so it was onward and upward from there.

The boys ordered a t-bone and an eye fillet, both of which were a good size and beautifully cooked. I switched to the lamb shoulder which I shared with my friend. It would have feed 3 and tasted great. Another had the fish and hubby the seafood plate, both of which were great. The wine was lovely, cocktails good and the outdoor eating area is just lovely. Shaky start but strong finish. We'll definitely be back.

I am currently staying at the Sunseeker Motel. I ordered room service tonight and had one of the most magnificent meals I have ever had. From start to finish the flavours were amazing and the presentation was great. I still have dessert to go, but am too full at the moment. My compliments go to the chef. I will definitely eat here again and recommend to my friends.
