amazing view out the back of the cafe. very friendly service, hardly felt like a wait (but not too fast!) left essentially no crumbs because the food was affordable and filling. very yummy! drinks are a little pricey but because they’re also delicious, i think it’s deserved.

What a lovely little spot purched on the side of the water in Batemans Bay. We had the smashed avo absolutely perfect and the big breakfast which was good size and lovely just a little over cooked for me but I don't like crispy bacon either. To top it all off the strawberries and banana pancakes just amazing. Thankyou the experience was just fantastic.

Every time I’m in town I see this place with its big sign for pancakes. And I love pancakes, so I keep saying I’ll try it. And this trip I’ve tried it twice. I so badly want to love it. But I guess it is not to be.

The first time I tried it, I looked at the website, saw an ordinary stack of pancakes was an option, so I went down to get it. But that wasn’t on the menu at the restaurant. When I tried to order it, the staff looked at me like I had two heads and acted as if they did not understand the idea of a stack of pancakes not covered in fruit and cream. I ended up going to the ice cream shop for pancakes.

I tried again the following day. This time I brought them their own menu on the website so I could order what their website calls “the original,” a stack of three buttermilk pancakes with syrup. They said they didn’t sell that anymore. I asked if there was no way to get pancakes and syrup without the additional sweetness overload of cream, ice cream, and fruit piled on top. They weren’t sure and, in any case, had a thirty minute wait. So I’m writing this at the ice cream shop. Again getting pancakes and eggs at the ice cream shop.

I don’t understand why ordering something so simple is so difficult for Kitchen On The Bay. But I guess it is. I hope they get better.
