Shared the slow cooked lamb (GF) amongst 4 adults with side of steamed greens (GF) and sweet potato fries (not GF). Was pleased I left room for the deliciously sweet Creme Brulee (GF). Great vibe and attentive friendly service. Several families were celebrating birthday dinners which added to the vibe.

Always a great meal in particular the Steaks! We also really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts with roasted chestnuts 🌰... they make a great Espresso Martini too! Consistently good and reliable pub love the roaring fires in winter 🔥...

After an errant didi to this establishment we had the distinct pleasure to have a drink with Neil the bartender! He has a doppelgänger in ladera ranch, ill leave it at that. We will be back!

First time visit for lunch and the food and service were absolutely top notch. The zucchini flowers and scallop entrees and snapper pie for main were our picks for the day. We would definitely come back again to try other dishes. Great kids menu too and our 5 year old enjoyed her lunch and chocolate gelato immensely.

The food and service at the Royal Oak are top notch. While I’d say the interior could use a little makeover, who really cares if you can get a great elevated pub menu just off the Main Street in Balmain at a reasonable price! Highly recommend the Lobster and crab ravioli 10/10!

Reviewing the restaurant section, not the pub itself.

Great food, average service.

This venue feels like it tried to fit into Balmain but is like the step brother/sister to rest of the pubs in the area.

We dined in the atrium restaurant, it was a Friday so we booked expecting it to be somewhat busy, we were one of only 4 tables.

The food was very good, though did feel expensive for the serving size. The drinks are well priced.

We had the lamb shoulder for 3-4 people. We had 4 people and it was pretty small for 4 people, I would say it is for 2-3.

The potatoes served with the lamb were next level Yum!

The only reason this was not a 4 star review is because the service was very slow.

Fabulous pub with great food and service. Bar area with all sorts of snacks and meals from which to choose.
A restaurant with more upmarket dishes coupled with a wine and spirits menu sits at the other end of the bar.
Home-made deserts follow with liquors available to finish the experience.
Tuesday night represents 'Bon a petite ' with specials at $25 per head, which is fantastic value.
The 200g Rump steak is superb.
