I'm writing this review to warn others: please avoid using Hertz Campbelltown. I had a deeply frustrating experience that I regret, and I don’t want anyone else to go through the same.

Nine days ago, I contacted Hertz Campbelltown to inquire about renting a vehicle while mine was being repaired after an accident. As you can imagine, I was already stressed and in a tough financial situation. During my initial call, a male representative quoted me a total of $500 for an eight-day rental, along with an additional $500 holding deposit. He assured me that as long as I returned the car in good condition and with a full tank, I would receive the deposit back.

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was served by another male representative. I reconfirmed the pricing, and he reiterated the $500 rental fee and $500 deposit, assuring me I would get the deposit back. He then offered me damage waiver insurance for an additional $120, which I decided to add, thinking it was reasonable. I paid with my debit card but didn’t receive a receipt at the time. I later requested one, but they informed me that I would get an invoice upon returning the vehicle.

Before returning the car, I cleaned it thoroughly and ensured there was no damage. I filled up the tank completely, incurring more costs. Upon returning the car, the same male representative did not check the vehicle in front of me and told me I would receive my deposit back in 3-5 business days.

Yesterday, I received the invoice from Hertz and was shocked to find discrepancies. They charged me only $200 for the deposit and more for the insurance than what was initially quoted. This is unacceptable! I feel completely taken advantage of. Had I known the insurance would cost more, I wouldn’t have added it.

To make matters worse, I’m still waiting on my $200 deposit. After everything I’ve experienced, you’d think they would process this action ASAP!

I contacted Hertz to file a complaint and spoke with a female manager who was unhelpful. She stated that while she reviewed the camera footage, she couldn't hear our conversation and offered me a 25% discount on my next rental. Given my experience, I will not use Hertz again, and I certainly won’t recommend them to others.

Hertz, your lack of integrity and poor customer service is disappointing. It’s unfortunate that you’re willing to take advantage of customers during difficult times.

I gave you a one-star rating just to submit this review, but you don’t deserve it. Please heed this warning and consider other options for your rental needs.

I have been renting from Hertz for many years, and they have consistently provided excellent service. Their fleet is always up-to-date, and the staff is incredibly hospitable and accommodating, always going above and beyond to meet my needs.

Had to get a rental car via AAMI insurance. I was in a rush as I had to attend a work meeting. They gave me a prado which is filthy inside and smells like cigarettes. There are coffee splits on the dash as well. Not sure why a big company like Hertz will operate like this and will have such low standards. I don't have the time as I am working as a sales manager so I have to travel a lot. I would have definitely taken the vehicle back but at the end of the end it will mean again paperwork and the staff is very slow in processing the car rental pickup

Good service and vehicle. Be careful to fully inspect vehicle inside and out. Read the contract carefully. Watch out when exiting the driveway as it's a bit steep and you don't want to scratch the front bumper as soon as you take off!

We had a car booked through Insurance - Staff on pick up were friendly and helpful, the chap went ouut of his way to help us even assisted with fitting our Grandsons car seat. The car was very clean and tidy.
