Loved the experience. It was a great day to visit. We had the place almost to ourselves. The area is large with a number of options available for picnics, walking, etc. There is plenty of parking. However, closer to the dam wall parking is extremely limited. So, if you are there on a busy day, park at the top and walk down. The complex also offers conference facilities. The wall itself is interesting and presents beautiful views over the river. No tickets required.

Lovely place to visit, a historic landmark and a scenic place. The dam itself is down a trail, which starts from a car park, playground, and picnic spots. The walk took us 45 minutes to go all the way down, then come back up. If you drive, it is faster, 5 minutes each way. There are some pretty houses and gardens on the walk, with lots of nature. The only problem was that there was a fence on the dam wall, so we could only go a small way. Hopefully, the fence is removed soon, as the walk ahead is very beautiful. Very beautiful and peaceful place. I definitely recommend paying a visit and holding on to your personal items on the wall as it is very windy 😀

It's a lovely looking dam with crenelation reminiscent of castle with a guard house in the middle. However when we visited, there's a fence blocking further access past the halfway mark which is a shame.

No toilet near the actual dam but there's picnic area with 2 toilet buildings on the way there.

This historic dam is well worth visiting. Magnificent structure, an engineering feat, built in the early 1900s. The protected area around the dam is very peaceful and picturesque. There are great facilities for families to enjoy a picnic or barbecue. It’s a pleasant 1 hour drive from Sydney either via the Hume highway / Appin road, or via the Princess freeway.

Great place to visit and take in scenery. It's also got great picnic grounds available. No dogs allowed it's still part of the National Park.
It's a great little day trip less then 1 hour from Sydney.

It's great just after some rain they let the water rush out.

Great historical dam with amazing stone masonry structures, built-in 1906 for supply drinking water to Sydney. It was nice to walk across the bridge, to see pump house, water coming out at the basement, and beautiful natural views. Also there is a picnic area with gardens, kids play areas and BBQ facilities.

As we drove up the sealed road towards the dam, you will first see a very beautiful park with park benches and electric bbq pits where you can have a picnic and a great time. There are clean toilets as well.
We drove slightly further and parked near the dam. What a beautiful and tranquil place. Easy access and walk along the dam for everyone.
