The room was spacious with good bed and beddings plus nice bathroom.
Could be better if the rooms had view.
Dinner in the restaurant was very good with excellent customer service. However breakfast doesn’t have much options like fried/poached eggs, options for bread or pancakes.

Deplorable, needs a total renovation and a thorough clean.
Rooms were old, carpet filthy.
We stayed for 4 nights, only towels were replaced, and bed made.
Would not recommend.

Average for the brand name. Rooms look dated. Beds really need replacing, including the rollout bed. Woke up with sore backs the next day. The refrigerator did not keep cool. Did not bother raising it with the hotel as we were there for just a couple of nights. Staff are pleasant and friendly.

My wife and I had a 3 night stay recently and the rooms and service were amazing. From check in to check out we felt very welcome. Chloe at reception was friendly and very helpful with everything we needed. Adrian in the restaurant was fantastic. On the Monday night the restaurant was full to overflowing with most people not having a booking. Adrian kept us updated with when our food and drinks would be ready and was very entertaining. We were more than happy to wait as we could see he was under pressure.
We will stay here again.

Not given to usually passing comment via a review. However arriving back home and finding myself reflecting upon our short stay at Rydges Armidale found that a couple of things regarding our stay a tad disappointing. The shower glass doors rather dangerous insomuch as one side slider was hanging loose and not secured at the base. Along with no rail to assist in holding onto really needed for elderly people in the shower.Basically to support when dodging fluctuating temperatures in water. The ridiculous basin in the bathroom. Small and next to useless as when the taps turned on, water splashed all over one, basically due to unable to control the water pressure from the said tap.sad also that unable to use power point in bedrooms ,but having a bank of four power points next to basin.in bathroom.Annoying trivial point as well was the lack of tea towel to dry used cups etc along with apart from supplied tea spoons. No cutlery available needed when using the supplied toaster. Our stay however provided the necessary bed for the night. Just. On the plus side. Continental Breakfast so enjoyed. Forgot to mention Broken garbage bin which housekeeping should have reported to management as I do presume bin is emptied when cleaning the room.

The pluses - good location, adequate parking, comfortable bed, relatively soundproof, roomy for a motel room, generally friendly staff..

The negatives - even though our booking clearly stated we had a Free Breakfast , it took 4 attempts to have this added to our portfolio (we were there for 5 days). Consequently there was an 'issue' every time we turned up at the restaurant reception. This was embarrassing and could so easily have been avoided. After the 2nd day we were told we could only have the Continental breakfast. It didn't say this on our booking, it said 'Free Breakfast'. I would have thought Management would not argue the point but they did !!! If we wanted the Full Breakfast we'd have to pay more! Frankly, the full breakfast wasn't good so we stuck to the Continental.

I had joined Rydges so was entitled to a 20% discount on the restaurant evening meal but because I couldn't find my digital card they refused - even though the staff member could clearly see I was a Gold member on her computer. Hotel Receotion had also confirmed this too when I checked in but NO they refused the discount. I offered my Driver's license to prove who I was, but NO!

We were supposed to have a daily milk in our fridge. We had one on the first day only. I mentioned it to Management but nothing happened. I came across a friendly Housekeeper on the third day and she delivered a milk to me.

The safe in Room 227 is in a bottom cupboard on floor level. To access it you have to lie on the floor with a torch - to read the instructions - as it's recessed at the back of the cupboard. What designer of hotel rooms would come up with such a bizarre idea. The safe should be at eye or waist level. Any elderly person would give up in frustration. You have to be relatively athletic to access it. Only a halfwit would design a room with a safe on the floor and at the back of a small cupboard.

I pointed this problem out to 4 staff at Reception and quickly realised, by their bewildered looks, not one of them had ever been into our room to check out all the fixtures and fittings I don't know if every room had this problem but suspect they all did.

In summary, I was very disappointed in the attitude of the top Management. Surely, from a PR angle alone you wouldn't argue over the breakfast . If it was only Continental it should have said on my booking papers 'Continental Only Breakfast '. Management was asked on 4 occasions to change the breakfast portfolio to 'Free Breakfast ' for my room number but nothing happened. It really is embarrassing having to argue with the breakfast reception staff - I actually had to present my booking form each day to prove the point.

I won't be rushing back to stay at Rydges Armidale.

The internet functioned poorly - was only able to connect if I sat at door with it adjar. Did go to reception but little help or follow up offered. ||The area outside the room was really grubby looked like had not been cleaned in weeks. Cigarette butts, leaves, grit, paper pieces etc.
