I recently did their 2 day, underwater photography fundamentals course, and it was brilliant!
The teacher, Pete, is a wealth of knowledge and experience, and explained everything really well. The small class size was perfect to get the guidance needed and for the dives where we put our morning lessons into practice.
We had a mix of abilities in our group, from a newly licensed diver to an ex divemaster, and already talented and experienced photographers, to me, who had no idea about camera settings, and I think each of us gained some really valuable insights from this course.

Great set of morning dives at Shelly beach with Fletcher. Met at the shop sorted out gear, had a group of 4, shuttled to and from the beach.

Amazing dives, saw the main man Basil the turtle, an eagle ray, many Wobbedongs and a giant cuttlefish. Met at 09:00 - finished just after 14:00.

I first visited Dive Centre Manly (DcM) three months ago to buy some scuba gear and do a refresher course. After a great chat with James, I signed up for the Reactivate course with Fletch. The course was not only fun but also very thorough Fletch ensured everyone understood the material while keeping the experience enjoyable.
After completing the two Reactivate dives, I asked James for advice on improving my diving skills as an Open Water Diver. Following an in-depth and professional discussion, I decided to go all in with the Advanced to Dive Master package. It was challenging, but the experience and knowledge I gained along the way were invaluable. The Advanced course with Fletch was one of the most exciting times of my life.
Next, I completed the Rescue Diver course with Jeeven, who is hands down the best mentor and instructor I’ve ever met. His calm and effective teaching style was incredibly impressive. Although the course was tough, it was also a lot of fun.
After countless dives, I began my Dive Master training, which turned out to be the most rewarding yet exhausting journey of my life. You need discipline and dedication, but DcM makes sure you’re supported every step of the way. They always answered my questions quickly and clearly. During the training, I had the chance to work closely with amazing instructors like Bill, one of the most experienced and genuinely cool people I’ve met. I learned so much from him. Luke, though younger, has incredible diving knowledge and was an immense help, even outside work hours. Jordan always had helpful tips, often before I even asked, which I found remarkable. Stew was another key figure, teaching me a lot about the technical side of diving.
As for guided dives, I particularly enjoyed diving with Jimmy, but dives with Jack, Cameron, Lisa, and Ollie were just as amazing. Dive Centre Manly also offers special events like night dives, which I highly recommend, and trips like South West Rocks with Tricky, which was the most incredible diving experience of my life and not to forget for the „ PADI aware foundation“ dives against debris, to safe the planet.
I’d also like to mention Izzy, who manages marketing and is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.
Lastly, Michael, the shop owner, is not only a great instructor but also incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of knowing him as both a teacher and my boss during my Dive Master internship, which I recently completed.
My experience with Dive Centre Manly has been nothing short of exceptional. Every word I’ve written is honest. I highly recommend DcM to anyone interested in diving. Thank you, Dive Centre Manly, for such a unique and unforgettable experience!

Had the pleasure of completing my Open Water course with Fletch at the Manly Dive Centre. Fletch was great as an instructor, covering all material in depth while also allowing time for diving just for fun. Course was well organised and whole team were great. Really good first experience diving. Highly recommend for anyone looking to do a course or just to dive in Sydney as there are opportunities to join dives through the centre.

My brother and I had a great experience with Dive Center Manly! We got certified when we were visiting Manly for five days. All the staff were so friendly and excited to get us diving. We did the Open Water certification and the first day was instructed by Luke T. who was very positive, patient and knowledgeable and helped us practice the skills we needed until we felt confident. After our first day of the course there was some bad weather for the next few days which made it impossible to dive which was out of their control, but the shop immediately called us the morning of our second scheduled day and let us know our options to reschedule and offered a full refund if we were unable to do the second day and explained that they could refer us to another dive center so we wouldn’t have to do the entire course again. Luckily on our last day in Manly the swells were predicted to be fine to dive, and they helped us reschedule our second day of the course before we left Sydney. The shop was very responsive when we kept calling with questions about weather and scheduling and helped us schedule the second day so we could get certified without having to do the second day somewhere else.
On our second day our instructor Cameron R. was also great, he was very friendly and adapted to our learning pace and was very experienced. He also showed us lots of sharks and fish on our last dive which was very fun.
Overall, I highly recommend the dive courses and instructors at Dive Center Manly, we had an amazing time and a very smooth experience in getting certified!

Completed Open Water Cert with Dive Centre Manly, easy booking and helpful communication leading up to class. Our instructor, Luke T, was impressively knowledgeable on all aspects of diving and a thoughtful teacher. A full schedule two days but well worth the completion!

Booked guided dives on the Shelly Beach Manly site. Even though I was the only photographer in the group there was no conflict in pace with other divers. Everything was professional and well organised.

Had a great weekend getting my certification here, my instructor Jack was a legend, super friendly, patient, and competent, I felt like I was in very safe hands. Got to swim with a turtle, sharks, cuttlefish and all sorts of beautiful fish. Would highly recommend them to anyone!
